Job Title: Cleanroom TechnicianJob DescriptionAs a Cleanroom Technician, you work in a climate-controlled production environment supporting the preparation and packaging of laboratory media and tubes. You operate in specialized areas such as automatic and manual plate rooms and tube sorting, ensuring products are accurately prepared, labeled, and packaged according to established procedures and quality standards. This role involves repetitive lifting, standing for the full shift, and following detailed work instructions and documentation in a cleanroom setting. Responsibilities • Work in cleanroom production areas such as the Automatic Plates Room (APR), Manual Plates Room (MPR), and tube production (TVS), following all cleanroom protocols and procedures. • Support the preparation of media dispensed into petri dishes, including handling plates and related materials and, when required, cleaning petri dishes. • Perform sorting, packaging, labeling, and palletizing of tubes and other products in the tube production area. • Follow detailed work instructions and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to complete production, assembly, and packaging tasks accurately and consistently. • Conduct basic quality assurance checks on products and packaging to ensure they meet required specifications. • Complete documentation of packaging procedures and production activities throughout the shift, maintaining accurate records and logs. • Use a calculator to perform basic math needed for counts, quantities, and production documentation. • Lift, twist, and push up to 30 pounds repetitively while handling materials and products. • Remain on your feet for the entire shift while working on production lines or in cleanroom suites. • Work both independently and in small groups, collaborating with team members to meet production goals and timelines. • Adhere to all safety requirements, including the use of safety shoes, hair nets, safety glasses, and other required protective equipment. • Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow all cleanroom gowning and hygiene standards appropriate to each department. • Be flexible and willing to work overtime when required, including occasional additional days or extended hours during busy seasons. Essential Skills • At least 6 months of experience in production or manufacturing environments. • Ability to work comfortably in a production manufacturing environment, including repetitive tasks and standing for a full shift. • Ability to lift, twist, and push up to 30 pounds repetitively throughout the shift. • Ability to stand on your feet for the entire shift. • Ability to speak, read, and write basic English to follow work instructions and complete documentation. • Experience with general production, manufacturing processes, and manufacturing assembly. • Ability to follow work instructions and apply Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in daily tasks. • Comfort working in a cleanroom production environment and adhering to related protocols. • High school diploma or GED equivalent. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Cleanroom experience is a plus. • Experience with packaging, inspection, and quality assurance in a manufacturing or production environment. • Familiarity with manufacturing production environments, including documentation of procedures. • Ability to work in small teams or independently while meeting production targets. • Willingness to work flexible schedules, including occasional overtime and additional days during busy periods. Work EnvironmentYou work in a climate-controlled facility with distinct production areas. Some areas may have a noticeable smell of yeast or vinegar, particularly in one building, and certain sections can be loud, especially where glass tubes and bottles are processed; earplugs are provided for hearing protection. You may work in small groups or on your own, depending on the assignment. The dress code requires safety shoes (steel or composite toe) and allows jeans, t-shirts, and sweatshirts that are non-offensive, with scrubs encouraged. Hair nets, safety glasses, and surgical-style face coverings are provided and required in designated cleanroom areas. In some departments you wear more extensive cleanroom attire, while in others you do not need a full cleanroom suit. Shifts include first, second, and third shift options, with occasional overtime that may extend daily hours or add extra days during busy seasons. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lenexa, KS. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
