Job Title: Hospital Dishwasher Food Service DepartmentJob DescriptionThis role focuses on washing, sanitizing, and transporting dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment to support a clean, safe, and efficient food service operation within a children's hospital. You will play an important part in maintaining high sanitation standards and ensuring that meals are served safely and on time in a fast-paced healthcare environment.Responsibilities
• Wash and thoroughly sanitize dishes, utensils, trays, and other kitchen equipment to maintain a clean and safe food service environment. • Follow established sanitation and safety procedures at all times while handling both clean and dirty dishes. • Transport clean dishes and equipment to appropriate areas within the hospital food service department. • Collect and transport dirty dishes and used equipment from various hospital locations back to the kitchen for cleaning. • Maintain cleanliness and organization in dishwashing and kitchen work areas throughout the shift. • Operate dishwashing equipment and tools safely and efficiently according to department guidelines. • Work effectively in a fast-paced environment while meeting time requirements for dish turnover and kitchen support. • Collaborate with food service staff and other team members to ensure smooth and timely meal service. • Demonstrate a professional and friendly demeanor when interacting with staff and visitors. • Adhere to all hospital and department policies related to hygiene, safety, and infection control. Essential Skills
• Experience with dishwashing and sanitation procedures in a kitchen or food service environment. • Ability to work nights and weekends as part of a set schedule. • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with frequent movement and time-sensitive tasks. • Ability to stand on your feet for up to 8 hours per shift. • Professional and friendly attitude when working with others. • Reliability and consistency in following safety and sanitation protocols. • Previous experience in the food service industry is preferred. • Experience in hospital or healthcare food service is a plus. • Strong teamwork skills and willingness to assist where needed in the kitchen. • Good communication skills to coordinate with food service staff and follow instructions accurately. The role involves standing for approximately 8 hours per shift and working in a busy, fast-paced kitchen environment with dishwashing equipment and standard food service tools. The regular schedule includes Wednesdays from 12:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Saturdays from 12:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Sundays from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and Mondays from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The environment emphasizes cleanliness, safety, and adherence to hospital hygiene and infection control standards, with staff expected to maintain a neat, professional appearance appropriate for a healthcare food service setting. Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Glendale, AZ. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.97 - $18.97/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
