NOW HIRING MECHANIC HELPERS! 1ST SHIFT | $21/HR | WEEKLY PAY | LOUISVILLE, KY Job DescriptionThe Field Technician services, repairs, and assembles pumps and valves in both shop and industrial power plant environments. This role combines hands-on mechanical work with field assignments, using a variety of hand and air tools to support valve maintenance and installation projects. After training, the technician works alongside a lead in the field to perform assembly and service duties at power plants.Responsibilities
• Service and repair valves using basic hand and air tools such as impact wrenches, air grinders, drills, and torches. • Disassemble pumps and valves to perform mechanical repair and maintenance tasks. • Assist with mechanical work in the shop, including cleaning, inspecting, and preparing components for repair or reassembly. • Work under the guidance of a lead technician in the field once trained, supporting valve assembly and service activities in power plants. • Perform installation, assembly, and service duties on pumps and valves in industrial environments. • Follow established safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment while working in shop and power plant settings. • Support construction-related tasks associated with pump and valve service projects as needed. • Use mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot basic issues with valves and related equipment. • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized condition. • Travel to customer sites in regions such as KY, OH, and WV to perform field service work. • Adapt to varying work hours, including standard shifts, longer outage shifts, and occasional weekend on-call assignments. • Communicate effectively with leads and team members to ensure work is completed accurately and on schedule. Essential Skills
• 2+ years of experience using hand and power tools. • 2+ years of experience performing physical labor in environments such as construction, military, installation, or service work. • 1+ years of mechanical work experience in areas such as automotive, service, or manufacturing. • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to learn pump and valve service procedures. • Ability to safely operate basic hand and air tools, including impact wrenches, air grinders, drills, and torches. • Comfort working in loud, dirty, industrial environments and shop settings. • Willingness and ability to travel for field assignments. • Ability to work flexible hours, including standard daytime shifts, longer outage shifts, and occasional weekend on-call work. • Capability to perform physically demanding tasks, including standing for extended periods, lifting, and working in industrial plant conditions. Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Experience in construction, installation, service, or military roles that involved regular use of hand and power tools. • Background in mechanical work such as automotive repair, equipment service, or manufacturing maintenance. • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with valves, pumps, or similar industrial equipment. • Interest in developing into a valve technician through on-the-job training and formal certifications. • Ability to follow detailed instructions and work effectively as part of a team in both shop and field environments. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Louisville, KY. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
