Job Title: Cyber Software EngineerJob DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated Cyber Software Engineer to develop secure, high-performance cyber software solutions that support mission-critical Department of Defense (DoD) systems. You will work within Linux-based, containerized environments to design and deploy scalable microservices, focusing on networking, performance optimization, and cyber analysis.Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain secure software applications using C++ and/or Java. • Build and optimize high-performance systems leveraging parallelization techniques. • Develop and deploy containerized applications within Linux environments. • Architect and implement microservices-based solutions. • Integrate and manage services within Kubernetes environments. • Analyze network traffic and support cyber capabilities such as packet inspection and reconnaissance. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the full software lifecycle from development through deployment. • Debug and enhance applications directly in container orchestration environments. Essential Skills
• Ability to obtain a DoD Interim Secret Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required). • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). • Experience with C++ and/or Java development. • Experience with parallelization and performance optimization. • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals. • Proficiency in containerized application development. • Hands-on experience running and managing containers on Linux distributions. • Understanding of microservice architectures. Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Experience with CI/CD pipeline design and implementation. • Familiarity with tools for managing Kubernetes application lifecycles. • Direct experience developing and debugging applications on Kubernetes. • Knowledge of network reconnaissance techniques. • Experience with network traffic analysis and deep packet inspection. • Familiarity with tools/libraries such as Boost Asio, gRPC, and Pcap++. • Experience in analyzing and securing embedded systems/devices. Work EnvironmentThe work environment involves Linux-based development ecosystems, containerized infrastructure using Docker and Kubernetes, and Agile/DevSecOps workflows. You will be part of mission-driven DoD cyber programs. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Manassas, VA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $52.00 - $85.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
