About this role

Two Gates Primary School is seeking to appoint a reliable, practical and proactive Site Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day management and maintenance of our school site.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in maintaining a safe, secure and welcoming environment for our pupils, staff and visitors. The successful candidate will be organised, approachable and able to work independently, using their initiative to ensure the school premises are well maintained and operational.

About the role

Working 20 hours per week, 4 hours per day, the Site Manager will oversee the day-to-day running of the school premises, ensuring that the buildings, grounds, facilities and equipment are maintained to a high standard.

Key responsibilities will include:

Taking responsibility for the security, maintenance and general upkeep of the school siteCarrying out regular checks of the buildings, grounds and facilities and arranging or undertaking repairs as requiredIdentifying maintenance issues and ensuring they are addressed promptlyManaging and liaising with contractors and external service providersSupporting health and safety requirements, including routine checks and record keepingEnsuring the school site is secure and responding appropriately to any issues that ariseManaging deliveries and supporting contractors and visitors accessing the siteUndertaking general maintenance, repairs and practical tasks where appropriateEnsuring the school grounds are clean, safe and well presentedMaintaining appropriate records relating to maintenance, health and safety and site complianceSupporting the school with emergency situations and unforeseen maintenance issuesWorking closely with the Headteacher and wider school team to ensure the premises meet the needs of the school communityAbout you

We are looking for someone who:

Has good practical, maintenance and DIY skillsHas experience of managing or maintaining a building, premises or siteIs organised, reliable and able to prioritise their workload effectivelyCan work independently and use their initiativeHas a good understanding of health and safety and the importance of maintaining a safe environmentIs confident communicating with staff, contractors, visitors and external professionalsTakes pride in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environmentHas a flexible and proactive approach to resolving day-to-day issuesIs approachable and committed to supporting the wider school communityPrevious experience of working within a school or education setting would be desirable, although experience in another relevant premises, facilities or site management environment will also be considered.
