Job Title: Senior Lab Technician, 2nd Shift Reporting To: Section Head, Engineering Lab Work Schedule: Onsite – Torrance, CAMoog Military Aircraft Group is seeking a Senior Engineering Lab Technician on 2nd Shift (2:00pm-10:30pm) to serve as a technical resource for environmental and functional testing of aircraft hardware. You will independently set up and conduct tests, support test planning and readiness reviews, analyze and summarize test data, investigate test anomalies, and provide technical guidance to engineers and other technicians. Report to Engineering Lab Section Head, and you will have an on-site work schedule in Torrance, California.
Schedule: Second shift, Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime and weekend support.

To be considered, here is what you’ll need to bring with you:
• Engineering or related technical degree, or an equivalent combination of education and technical training, with at least eight years of progressively responsible experience as a test technician in mechanical, electronic, electromechanical, or environmental test environments. • Relevant military experience, trade-school training, technical certifications, or equivalent experience may be considered when evaluating qualifications • Experience using test instruments, data acquisition systems, and laboratory test equipment • Experience independently setting up and conducting tests in accordance with written procedures • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, test specifications, and technical documentation • Ability to communicate technical information clearly and work effectively across • engineering, operations, quality, and safety organizations • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a security clearance • Able to work on 2nd shift hours It would be great if you also had:
• Experience testing to RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD-810, or comparable aerospace and defense standards • Experience with endurance, fatigue, limit-load, ultimate-load, thermal, and acceptance testing • Experience supporting vibration, pressure-altitude, icing, humidity, sand-and-dust, salt-fog, and thermal-shock testing • Experience with data-acquisition and post-processing applications such as LabVIEW, NI DIAdem, dSPACE, Dewesoft, or MATLAB • Experience with environmental chambers, multichannel oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, milliohm meters, dielectric testers, torque tools, thermocouples, and related laboratory equipment • Experience supporting instrumentation and data-acquisition setup • Familiarity with aircraft, defense, or other regulated test environments As a Senior Laboratory Technician, you will:
• Model and follow the highest standards of laboratory and test-site safety • Identify and control hazards associated with temperature extremes, elevated pressures, rotating equipment, high-noise areas, chemicals, oils, solvents, liquid nitrogen, and electrical energy • Independently review test specifications and set up the unit under test and associated equipment according to approved procedures • Inspect test setups for compliance with test procedures, safety requirements, configuration controls, and applicable customer and regulatory requirements • Lead or independently conduct tests while monitoring critical parameters and verifying compliance with test requirements • Maintain detailed test logs documenting test execution, observations, anomalies, and corrective actions • Collect, process, and analyze test data using applicable data-acquisition and analysis systems • Prepare data summaries, plots, and technical reports for engineering and customer review • Apply sound technical judgment when investigating test anomalies and recommend appropriate next steps • Assist engineers and other departments with test equipment, instrumentation, and data-acquisition activities • Participate in test planning, test readiness reviews, procedure reviews, and post-test activities • Review draft test procedures and provide technical feedback based on laboratory experience • Train and mentor other technicians on test setup, test execution, safety, documentation, and proper equipment use • Recommend improvements to test methods, procedures, and laboratory practices • Occasional travel, approximately 5%, is required: travel to external test locations to set up, inspect, and operate qualification-test equipment Work Environment and Physical Requirements This position requires the ability to:
• Lift and move test equipment and hardware in accordance with applicable company requirements • Stand and walk for extended periods • Wear required personal protective equipment • Work in high-noise areas and around hydraulic and pressurized systems • Work indoors and outdoors, including at external test locations • Climb, reach, bend, and work around test equipment and fixtures as required • Follow applicable safety procedures for temperature extremes, pressure systems, rotating equipment, chemicals, liquid nitrogen, and electrical hazards How We Care for You:

Salary Range Transparency: Torrance, CA $40.00–$50.00 Hourly Salary Range Disclaimer The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
