To accomplish this mission, the Compliance team is in charge of: Defining, planning, implementing and overseeing compliance risk-related programs including the third party due diligence process Coordinating and scheduling required compliance trainings for employees
• Supporting the Compliance officer in the implementation of the Compliance program within the group • Perform due diligence reviews for suppliers and customers of Aperam in close collaboration with the sales, purchasing and sourcing teams around the world and based on the analysis of: • Country risk (Economic sanctions on the country or embargo, Non cooperative jurisdictions) • Activity risk (sectors linked to authorities and public agencies, state owned companies) • Ethical risk (ethical scandals, sanctions on individuals, Politically Exposed Persons) • Transactions (size of the business, date of creation, atypical currencies, bank location…)
• Take part in cross-functional projects to ensure global consistency across entities (CSRD, integration of new sectors, etc.) • Participate in the deployment of Compliance training for Aperam employees worldwide and coordinate the follow up of those trainings, including the follow up of KPIs and the communication with the Compliance correspondents network • Provide support to the business teams as such reviewing compliance related matters in contracts with our stakeholders • Create development and implementation of compliance awareness trainings
• Ideally graduated from a law school or economic school with legal experience • First experience ideally in industry or in Legal or Compliance departments • English speaking • Collaborative and excellent communication skills • Strong problem-solving skills, creativity, empathy and the ability to act as a genuine business partner • Ability to work autonomously while managing a wide variety of projects in parallel • Demonstrated leadership, collaborative mindset and ability to influence without formal authority • Customer-oriented and proactive team player, comfortable working in cross-functional environments • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building strong relationships with non-lawyers and senior stakeholders • Ability to align legal expertise with commercial and strategic business objectives • Customer Mindset: think customer first, understand markets and stakeholders, build long-term partnerships, and maintain a solution-oriented approach • Continuous improvement: seek efficiency and simplification, challenge the status quo and pursue process improvements every day
