Coleg Sir Gâr and Coleg Ceredigion are seeking a Training Advisor to join the Work Based Learning team and support the delivery of Jobs Growth Wales Plus. JGW+ is a Welsh Government-funded programme for young people aged 16 to 19 who are referred through Working Wales. The programme helps young people engage in learning, gain work experience and progress into employment or further learning. The College delivers JGW+ as part of the B-WBL consortium, led by Pembrokeshire College. The Training Advisor will manage an allocated caseload of approximately 35 to 45 learners and act as a consistent point of contact throughout their programme. The role includes supporting recruitment and referrals, completing learner inductions, agreeing individual targets and monitoring progress, attendance and programme requirements. The postholder will mentor learners, help them address barriers and ensure that wellbeing or safeguarding concerns are identified and referred through the appropriate College procedures. The postholder will coordinate and deliver centre-based learning and work closely with tutors, assessors and College support services to help learners complete their qualifications and progress. Strong employer engagement is also central to the role. This includes developing employer relationships, securing suitable work experience placements and keeping employers informed about learner progress and attendance, including formal contact at least every 61 days. The role requires accurate and timely administration. The successful candidate will maintain learner records through Maytas Hub and other digital systems, meet programme deadlines and contribute to JGW+ performance targets, quality processes and the evaluation of work-based learning provision. The Training Advisor will be expected to: Work closely with Working Wales and Consortium with the recruitment of learners. Ensure all JGW+ programme KPIs are met. To work closely with the Line Manager on all aspects of provision. Conduct and co-ordinate comprehensive induction programmes with learners. Co-ordinate and delivery centre based delivery sessions to groups of JGW+ learners To ensure the work placement employers of learners are informed of progress against all targets and attendance at classes at least every 61 days following the appropriate review guidance. Support and mentor the learners throughout their programme enabling them to complete successfully and signpost them to the next stage of learning or employment. Support the employer, provide feedback on progress on a regular basis, ensuring the employers continual commitment to the learner and the programme. Ensure effective liaison between managers, teachers, tutors and assessors to ensure each learner’s progress is such that they complete their qualification. Ensure that all administration/digital processes associated with the role are completed to the highest standards and on time. Complete all the necessary digital processes to ensure learners achieve and obtain their qualification. Maintain personal continuous professional development Assist in the preparation of, and contribute to the evaluation processes of the annual Work Based learning self-assessment report. Ensure the cross-cutting themes e.g. ESDGC, ESQs, Prevent and the Welsh language are incorporated into delivery and assessment processes. Utilise and maintain appropriate tracking using Maytas Hub. Act as a conduit between employers and the college ensuring that all business leads are referred to the BDI Ensure that the wellbeing and safeguarding of all learners are monitored closely and sign posted if appropriate Represent the college at events, networks and meetings, when required. Carry out any other duties as directed by the Principal/Chief Executive commensurate with the grade of the post at the initial place of work or other locations within the College.
