We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Catering Assistantto join our busy Catering Team. As part of our Estates and Facilities service, you will play a vital role in ensuring patients receive meals and refreshments on time while helping to maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety and customer service throughout the hospital.
No two days are the same, and you will be part of a supportive team that helps keep essential hospital services running smoothly.
The kitchen is operational 7 days a week 365 days a year, between 6.00am - 8.00pm. The candidate needs to be a team player who has a flexible approach. Shifts vary between 6.00am - 8.00pm and will include weekends and bank holidays.
Main duties of the job
Working under the direction of the Catering Supervisor or Team Leader, you will:
Deliver meals, refreshments and patient provisions to wards and departments across the hospital.Support the day-to-day operation of the Catering Service for patients, visitors and staff.Carry out cleaning duties across catering areas, including kitchens, storerooms, fridges, freezers and associated facilities.Follow food safety and HACCP procedures and accurately record information using the Kelsius system.Complete documentation and job sheets as required.Report equipment faults and assist in maintaining a safe working environment.Work closely with ward teams, clinical staff, visitors and colleagues across the Trust.If you are hardworking, dependable and passionate about delivering excellent service, we'd love to hear from you.
