The role operates on a rotational shift pattern, consisting of 12 hour shifts, including days, weekends and bank holidays. Flexibility and resilience are essential, as no two days are the same in Emergency Care.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will work under the supervision of the Operational Support Coordinator/ Nurse in Charge and other registered staff at all times
The post holder will be required to provide support to Registered nurses and Clinical Support workers in accordance with Emergency Department based competencies
The post will be based within the Emergency Department but some flexibility may be required to cover areas as and when required when service needs dictate

Job description Job responsibilities
Daily department cleanliness
Maintaining stock levels in store areas as well as clinical areas
General tidying of all areas of the ward
Ordering of stock and maintenance of the same.
Contribute to the efficient and effective running of the Ward/Department.
Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
Assist the Multi-Disciplinary team in maintaining a clean and safe Ward/Department environment.
Be aware and act in accordance with all ED and Trust Operational Policies and procedures, including those relating to Health and Safety and patient confidentiality.
Undertake further training and personal development as highlighted through individual performance appraisal.
Carry out any additional Emergency Department specific responsibilities as requested.
Undertake administration staff duties as required.
There may be a requirement to move equipment within the Emergency Department.

NVQ Level 2 in a relevant subject or the equivalent level of working experience
