The Southampton Mental Health Liaison Team is a PLAN-accredited service at the forefront of mental health care transformation across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. Working within Southampton General Hospital, we provide specialist mental health assessment, support, and intervention to patients in the Emergency Department and inpatient wards, helping ensure people receive the right care when they need it most.
About the Role
As a Team Secretary, you will play a vital role in supporting the smooth running of our service. You will be the first point of contact for many enquiries, providing high-quality administrative and secretarial support to clinicians and the wider team while helping to ensure patients and partners receive an efficient and professional service.
Shift-Based Working
This role operates on a 7-day rota, including weekends and bank holidays.
Shifts cover a range of working patterns between 07:00 and 21:00

Main duties of the job
What You'll Be Doing
Providing comprehensive administrative and secretarial support to the multidisciplinary team and senior clinicians.Managing telephone enquiries and referrals from hospital staff, GPs, patients, carers, partner organisations, and other healthcare providers.Coordinating appointments, managing diaries, and supporting clinical schedules.Organising and coordinating meetings, including MDTs, Best Interest Meetings, and professional meetings.Preparing agendas, taking accurate minutes, and distributing meeting documentation.Supporting the delivery of a responsive and effective service within a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications Essential
RSA II or equivalent in typing/word processing GSCE in English and Maths To be competent in a range of computer software
