Job Purpose: Manage and provide technical oversight for the maintenance, reliability and repair of critical facility equipment, with primary emphasis on cold-chain infrastructure and cold rooms, preferably supporting pharmaceutical products. The role is responsible for preventive, corrective and condition-based maintenance of refrigeration systems, HVAC and ventilation systems, emergency generators, fire detection systems, technical rooms and associated critical utilities, ensuring safety, availability, temperature control, regulatory compliance, technical documentation and business continuity. Your Tasks:
• Manage preventive, corrective and condition-based maintenance plans for cold rooms, refrigeration systems, HVAC and ventilation, emergency generators, fire detection systems, technical rooms and related critical facility equipment. • Provide technical oversight of refrigeration units, evaporators, condensers, compressors, controls, sensors, alarms, humidity control systems, doors and associated cold-room components. • Monitor operating parameters, alarms and maintenance history to maintain temperature stability, equipment availability and operational continuity. • Coordinate calibration, verification and testing of temperature sensors, control devices and alarm systems in accordance with approved quality and technical requirements. Validate completion of works through site inspections, punch lists, photographic evidence, service reports and formal acceptance of deliverables. • Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for failures, temperature excursions, recurring alarms and service interruptions, documenting corrective actions. • Define technical scopes, specifications, spare-parts requirements, acceptance criteria and service levels for specialized maintenance and repairs. • Review technical proposals and quotations and verify contractor personnel, tools, certifications and methods. • Plan and supervise shutdowns, repairs, overhauls, replacements, commissioning and return-to-service activities. • Manage maintenance and functional testing of emergency generators, including controls, batteries, fuel systems and transfer arrangements. • Manage maintenance and testing of HVAC and ventilation systems, including controls, fans, filters and air-handling components. • Coordinate inspection, testing, maintenance and repair of fire detection and alarm systems with qualified providers. • Maintain technical rooms in safe and controlled condition, including access, housekeeping, labeling, environmental conditions and equipment clearances. • Maintain asset registers and equipment histories, including manufacturer, model, serial number, installation year, condition, useful life, warranties, critical spares and replacement strategy. • Monitor KPIs covering compliance, equipment availability, recurring failures, response times, backlog, costs and lifecycle risks. • Support maintenance budgets, forecasts, repair-versus-replace analyses, capital requests and lifecycle plans. • Ensure availability of critical spare parts, service agreements, emergency contacts and contingency arrangements. • Verify completed work through technical reports, test results, alarm checks, calibration records, commissioning evidence and formal return-to-service acceptance. • Ensure contractor compliance with HSE, work permits, lockout/tagout, electrical safety, refrigerant handling and site access requirements. • Coordinate with Quality, Operations, HSE, Security, Procurement and Real Estate when work may affect product conditions, life safety or business continuity. • Support audits, investigations and corrective-action plans with complete and traceable maintenance documentation. Stakeholders
• Influence internal teams and service providers through clear explanation of technical facts, priorities, policies and maintenance standards. • Work closely with Operations, Procurement, Security, HSE, Finance, Real Estate and local site leadership. • Build relationships with business units and understand their property maintenance needs, operational constraints and service expectations such as certified contractors, inspectors and specialized providers • Coordinate with specialist owners of critical systems whenever maintenance activities interface with excluded equipment or infrastructure. • Address task-related issues promptly and maintain constructive working relationships with stakeholders and contractors and escalate immediately any condition that may compromise product integrity, fire safety, compliance or business continuity. • Coordinate interventions to minimize operational disruption and protect temperature-controlled products and critical site functions. • Will work with the BU’s leaders (EXP, DSC, DGF).
Your Profile:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering with experience in Industrial Refrigeration, HVAC, Maintenance Engineering or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience. Desirable specialized training in industrial refrigeration, cold-chain systems, HVAC, emergency power, fire detection, refrigerant handling, electrical safety, lockout/tagout or pharmaceutical quality environments. • College Certificate with equivalent experience/qualification • Bachelor’s Degree with equivalent experience/qualification Experience Level
• 5–7 years of relevant experience maintaining and troubleshooting critical facility or industrial equipment, including cold rooms or refrigeration systems. • Demonstrated experience coordinating specialized contractors, maintenance plans, alarms, failures, technical documentation and return-to-service testing. Experience in pharmaceutical or regulated cold-chain operations is highly desirable
