Job Title: Wiring TechnicianJob DescriptionWe are seeking an efficient and detail-oriented Wiring Technician to assemble electrical components and structures into finished products according to specifications, blueprints, and work orders. In this role, you ensure high-quality, accurate assemblies while working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will read and interpret diagrams and schematics, use a variety of hand and power tools, and collaborate closely with your team to support production goals in a high-growth company. Responsibilities • Follow all safety protocols and procedures, including wearing required safety shoes, glasses, and ear protection. • Use hand tools and power tools in a safe manner and maintain a clean, organized, and tidy work area. • Read and interpret diagrams, schematics, blueprints, front views, bills of materials, drawings, and order entry systems to ensure accurate assembly. • Assemble components and structures, ensuring the finished product is level, square, and meets design specifications. • Inspect structural components such as corner posts, roofs, and covers for dents, scratches, and other damage prior to and after assembly. • Use torque wrenches to torque bolts to the required specifications and verify proper installation. • Assemble copper bussing according to design, checking for correct spacing between phases and ground. • Perform visual inspections of materials before and after assembly, identify nonconforming parts, and troubleshoot assembly errors. • Utilize various hand tools to accurately install materials by closely following established procedures for assigned functions. • Problem-solve using oral and written instructions to assemble switchboards and panelboards, proactively identifying missing components. • Communicate job progress within your area of assignment and promptly identify problem areas or part shortages. • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and participate in root cause analysis to address quality or production issues. • Work both independently and collaboratively with team members to meet production and quality targets. • Maintain strong communication with leads and peers to support smooth workflow and effective coordination. • Complete other assembly-related duties as assigned to support overall manufacturing operations. Essential Skills • Strong ability to work with concentration, accuracy, and attention to detail in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. • Ability to read and interpret diagrams, schematics, blueprints, bills of materials, and manufacturing documentation. • Experience working as an assembler or wiring technician in a manufacturing setting. • Familiarity with assembly tools and techniques, including hand tools, power tools, and torque wrenches. • Clear understanding of manufacturing information such as front views, drawings, blueprints, order entry systems, and bill of materials. • Ability to problem solve using oral and written instructions to assemble electrical products such as switchboards and panelboards. • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a team. • Ability to work independently while cooperating effectively with others. • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task, establish work priorities, and manage time efficiently. • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand or walk for long periods. • Proficiency using a computer and CAD software to open and follow structural designs. Additional Skills & Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent. • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment performing assembly or wiring work. • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, GMP, and inventory control is beneficial. • Experience working with ERP or order entry systems is an advantage. • Ability to identify nonconforming parts and participate in root cause analysis for quality issues. • Comfort working in a structured environment with established procedures and quality standards. • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities that support continuous improvement. Work EnvironmentYou will work in a brand-new manufacturing facility that will ultimately host approximately 200–250 people on site. The role is based on a manufacturing floor with exposure to machinery, noise, and varying temperatures, and requires the ability to stand or walk for long periods and occasionally lift 25–50 lbs. Steel-toed boots are required, and safety glasses are provided. You will be expected to wear long pants made of thicker material (not leggings) and long sleeves or cut-resistant sleeves, which will be supported with appropriate gear. Safety is a priority, with clear protocols and protective equipment in place. During your first week, you will receive comprehensive training before being assigned to a team, ensuring you are well prepared and supported in your day-to-day work. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elkridge, MD. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
