Unit Manager - Graduate Processing
Position Description: Manages a unit within a department. Plans, organizes and develops goals and procedures for the unit. Represents the unit to administrators, outside agencies and others on relevant matters. Supervises subordinate staff.

Major/Essential Functions: • Demonstrate extensive knowledge of admissions policies and procedures, enrollment goals, university facts, and proficient use of admissions and recruitment technology. • Oversee the processing and evaluation of domestic graduate applications and supporting documents. Research and resolve/escalate issues and inefficiencies in the application process. • Oversee the hiring, training, and ongoing evaluation of assigned graduate processing staff. Provide cross-training, mentoring, and professional development opportunities. • Ensure all processes handled by subordinate staff are working smoothly to ensure applications and documents are completed in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner. • Oversee the domestic graduate phone and emails queues to ensure prompt, friendly, and accurate customer service is being given to all prospective students and campus partners. • Perform and document weekly quality control on assigned processes and information provided by assigned staff by phone and email. • Provide weekly updates to Director of Processing on areas of responsibility. • Handle the processing of all prospective graduate student-athlete applications, while ensuring compliance with university and NCAA guidelines. • Serve as the lead residency specialist for domestic graduate applications, coordinating with the Residency Determination Official to ensure subordinate staff are trained on residency policies and procedures.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills; strong organization skills; ability to interpret institutional plans and objectives and communicate these effectively to subordinates.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree plus three years supervisory experience; OR a combination of education and/or supervisory experience to equal seven years.
Preferred Qualifications: Working knowledge of higher education admissions; Supervisory experience with full-time or part-time staff; CRM and call center experience; Experience with advising prospective students; Working within an organization/office setting.

Pay Statement: Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as the institutional pay plan.
