Position Description: Manages a unit within a department. Plans, organizes and develops goals and procedures for the unit. Represents the unit to administrators, outside agencies and others on relevant matters. Supervises subordinate staff.

Major/Essential Functions: • Oversee and manage OME Program Coordinators to include leave requests, recruitment and retention, employee counseling and mitigation, promotion/demotions, in-services/training and staff development. • Independently monitors and investigates adherence to LCME standards and notifies the Asst. Academic Dean of any concerns. Monitors student and faculty compliance with reporting requirements and assessments and detailed reports. • Collaborates with Clerkship Coordinators in "trouble-shooting" a variety of issues (i.e. IT, student, faculty, curriculum implementation). • Collaborates with the Office of Student Affairs in student scheduling and verification of meeting graduation requirements. • Collaborate with IT in the development and refinement of software applications for curriculum management. • Serves as liaison between the Office of Curriculum, Evaluation and Accreditation, Dept of Medical Education, Clerkship Directors and Coordinators, ATACS staff in OSCE planning and administration. • Generates/analyzes reports related to processes and outcomes of clerkship programs. • Manages all facets of curriculum management in Banner, including creating sections, assigning faculty and coordinators, adding/dropping courses and entering grades. • Collaborates with the Registrar's Office to ensure transcripts are accurate and complete. • Manages Student E-Portfolios including uploading NBME reports and publishing final grades. • Establishes agenda with input from the Asst Academic Dean, clerkship directors and coordinators, for monthly 3rd and 4th year clerkship directors/coordinator's meetings. Recommends and participates in the development of policies regarding the administration and running of the clerkships for staff and students in Years 3 and 4. • Coordinates and administers NBME exam as well as prepares score reports for the Office of Student Affairs, Clerkship Directors and Coordinators and students. • Be familiar with operation and schedules of all required 3rd and 4th year clerkships to provide backup when coordinators are absent. • Prepare reports for the LCME and other agencies as requested by the Asst Academic Dean. • Remain current with all licensure, certifications and mandatory compliances and trainings required of this position. • Adhere to all policies, procedures and practices (Regents Rules, TTUS, HSECEP OPs, etc.). • Personally, and consistently, demonstrate, display and act in accordance with Texas Tech Health El Paso’s Values (Service, Respect, Accountability, Integrity, Advancement, and Teamwork). Required Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree plus three years supervisory experience; OR a combination of education and/or supervisory experience to equal seven years.

Preferred Qualifications: • Experience working with BlackBoard or WebCT. • Excellent computer skills including profiency in Word, PowerPoint or Excel. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
