Senior Risk Manager - Change and Integration
Opportunity Overview: Team Overview: The Wealth Management and Field Management (WMFM) 1st Line Risk Team works together to identify, assess, manage, and elevate risks associated with the WMFM organization. The WMFM 1st Line Risk Team works to implement and operate the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Framework, drives alignment to the standards, provides transparency and visibility related to the risks in the WMFM profile, and helps to design and monitor risk mitigation plans that help the functional area manage risks. The Risk Manager serves as a trusted risk advisor and partner to the Finance division, collaborating with stakeholders across the organization to drive risk management initiatives. This role is focused on hands-on execution and influence rather than people leadership.
What You'll Do: • Partner with Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) stakeholders to stay informed on current and upcoming initiatives, assess impacts in collaboration with the first line of defense risk team, and lead the development and execution of comprehensive change management and communication plans for internal teams and affected business/process owners. • Collaborate internally to evaluate the impact of ERM initiatives on the department and prepare a comprehensive monthly status report summarizing progress, key impacts, and resourcing considerations to support senior partner readiness for governance meetings. • Maintain an inventory of required training for both the first line risk team and business/process owners, establish and monitor completion plans to ensure timely adherence, and keep onboarding materials and plans up to date to support effective integration of new risk team members. • Owner of the Third-Party Tools risk program, ensuring any existing and potential future WMFM tools are properly assessed through a risk program. • Develop and execute on the WMFM Strategy Risk program, giving our business area the tools and framework to assess strategy risk and make informed decisions. Work with Enterprise Risk leadership to ensure alignment with future standards. • Provide insights to leadership for potential consideration in risk forums & escalates emerging risk concerns • Act as a resource to the team and assist divisional leaders and associates, as needed • Support the initiatives of the firm's ERM division in rolling out policies and standards to WMFM, as needed Note: Internally, this role will be known as a Senior Risk and Control Associate.
Position Requirements: What Experience You Need: • Bachelor's Degree • 5+ years of risk management and/or change management experience • Experience leading and managing multiple initiatives/projects/large efforts • Ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership • Strong analytical, problem-solving and systems thinking skills including the ability to independently identify, prioritize, monitor, communicate, and/or resolve issues, including root cause analysis • FINRA Series 7 license or acquire within 12 months of hiring. What Could Set You Apart: • Prior experience as part of an ERM or first line of defense risk team, with experience handling multiple ERM initiatives • Prior experience focused on change and communication initiatives Candidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office four days per week.
