About this role

Opportunity Overview

The Enterprise Risk Director, Risk Intelligence & Innovation will set the strategy for and own a critical enterprise capability within Edward Jones' Enterprise Risk Management function: transforming risk data into intelligence, intelligence into decision support, and decision support into action. This leader will define the multi-year vision and roadmap for enterprise risk intelligence, data, analytics, GRC technology and innovation, moving ERM from our framework foundations toward connected platforms, predictive insight, intelligent automation and scalable decision support.

The role provides ERM business ownership of GRC strategy, investment priorities and outcomes, and leads the changes required to deliver this capability, partnering closely with business, technology, data and Legal, Compliance & Risk leaders to strengthen risk visibility, accountability and decision-making. The Enterprise Risk Director leads a team of risk professionals and reports directly to the Head of Enterprise Risk Management.

What You'll Do

  • Set the multi-year vision, strategy and roadmap for enterprise risk intelligence, data, analytics, innovation and technology, aligned to the firm's strategic objectives, risk appetite, regulatory expectations and the future-state LCR vision.
  • Own the end-to-end risk intelligence capability—including data, technology, GRC platforms, AI, analytics, adoption and talent—positioning ERM to deliver predictive, connected and actionable insights that improve enterprise decision-making.
  • Transform how risk information is sourced, connected, analyzed, communicated and embedded into business decisions across the enterprise.
  • Connect risk, control, issue, incident, metric, external and business performance data to identify patterns, concentrations and emerging risks earlier, and to highlight the enterprise risk profile, significant risks and trends.
  • Provide ERM business leadership for the risk technology ecosystem and roadmap, including ownership of GRC strategy, investment priorities and outcomes, ensuring GRC platforms, integrated workflows, data structures and reporting capabilities support scalable, connected and near-real-time risk management.
  • Lead ERM's strategic innovation portfolio, turning the future-state vision into prioritized initiatives, operating-model changes, capability roadmaps, business requirements, adoption and measurable outcomes.
  • Deploy the strategic levers of AI, intelligent automation and sourcing/shoring to increase efficiency, scale and the quality of risk insights.
  • Serve as a senior decision-support partner, influencing leaders across business, technology, data and Legal, Compliance & First Line Risk and delivering executive-ready risk intelligence that informs governance and strategic decisions.
  • Lead across a matrix of risk capabilities to align priorities, drive change and sustain adoption of new tools, insights and ways of working.
  • Lead and develop a team of risk professionals, building a leadership pipeline and upskilling talent in the future capabilities required for a technology-enabled risk function.

Position Requirements

What you'll need

  • Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Economics or a related discipline; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 6+ years of experience in enterprise risk management, operational risk, risk analytics and reporting, GRC technology, data strategy or a related risk discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience setting strategy for and delivering risk reporting, analytics, data or GRC capabilities in a complex organization.
  • Strong ability to influence senior stakeholders through relationships, lead through ambiguity and drive adoption across matrixed business, technology and risk teams.
  • Strong knowledge of financial services, wealth management or other regulated industries.

What will set you apart

  • Advanced degree or professional certification such as CRMP, FRM, PRM, CISA, CDMP or related risk, data, analytics or technology certification.
  • 11+ years of experience leading enterprise-wide risk intelligence, analytics, data, GRC technology or risk transformation capabilities.
  • Experience applying AI, advanced analytics, predictive insight or intelligent automation to risk management, and implementing or optimizing enterprise GRC platforms across a large, matrixed organization.
  • Ability to translate complex risk data into executive-ready insights that connect risk practices to business strategy, regulatory expectations and executive-level decision-making.
