JOB TITLE: District Literacy Instructional Coach SUPERVISOR: Assistant Superintendent or designee Contract: Up to 129 Days – Part Time Job Summary: Provides leadership and assistance for the development of curriculum and instructional programs that are aligned with Kentucky's Academic Standards and the State Assessment System; provides resources and coaching to instructional staff. Education/Certification: * Bachelor's degree in education (masters preferred) * 5 or more years of successful teaching experience * Prior instructional coaching experience preferred Experience: * Knowledge of curriculum and instruction at multiple grade levels * Strong knowledge of the science of reading instructional resources/curriculum * Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, including experience in leading/facilitating committees or teams * Evidence of ability to organize and analyze data (formative, summative, standardized, * Willingness to collaborate with district- level and school-level staff * Commitment to and willingness to continue learning in the areas of curriculum, assessment, instructional and learning strategies * Evidence of professional learning and implementation of best practice strategies and/or program Duties: * Assists with curriculum development and implementation * Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals * Provides guidance to instructional staff on instructional methods and materials that are appropriate for meeting district/school vision and mission * Models/co-teaches in classrooms as needed * Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation * Continues personal professional growth and upgrading of skills * Attends and conducts workshops, conferences, and seminars * Performs other duties as assigned by the principal or other administration
