SEL Coach SEL Job Description Position Title: Social-Emotional Learning Coach Job Description: Adopt and support implementation of SEL curriculum; expand training and learning opportunities for staff regarding classroom management, mental health awareness, safety, and alert procedures. Assist students and families with facilitation of school based counseling/therapeutic services and available community support. Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in teaching, counseling, social work, or related field
• One year of successful experience related to the field
• Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
Desirable Qualifications:
• Three years of successful experience related to the field
• Knowledge of behavioral management strategies, tiered interventions, trauma-informed care, and positive behavior intervention systems
• Demonstrated ability to deliver curriculum to whole class and/or small groups
• Experience conducting, developing, and delivering training to small and large groups
• Demonstrated ability to analyze data and trends
SEL Coach Duties Duties as the SEL coach/coordinator would include:
• Staying current on best practices in SEL
• Consulting with district/building administrators and staff concerning SEL and classroom management needs
• Providing/Coordinating professional development to support SEL curriculum, strategies, and related topics (PBIS, RTI, Trauma Informed Care, MTSS, 504, Special Education)
• Integration of SEL curriculum within existing frameworks (PBIS/TIC)
• Assist school-based teams with development of behavior interventions
• Observe and coach teachers on implementation of SEL programming and relationship building in the classroom
• Facilitate classroom examples of individual and small group activities designed to improve interpersonal relationships and social skills
• Facilitate and participate in school-based and district-level behavioral health team meetings
• Serves as liaison between school and community resources
• Maintain an ongoing database of students that the coach serves
• Travel as required for training, conferences, etc.
• Other duties as assigned
Terms of Employment: Classified position based on Rank II/ Rank III salary and work year (200 days) to be established by the board of education. (Grant established) Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of board policy for certified personnel.
