JOB SUMMARY Perform routine grounds maintenance duties. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Perform routine grounds maintenance duties as directed.
• Prune and trim trees, hedges, shrubs, and boundary fences as directed.
• Operate hedge trimmer, hand and power tools and snow removal equipment; make routine adjustments and minor repairs to equipment.
• Remove trash from grounds and sweep walkways after grounds work is complete.
• Assist in snow and ice removal from parking lots.
• Demonstrates the ability to communicate in more than one language or the willingness to learn to communicate in more than one language at the novice level of proficiency.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Maintains regular attendance.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES KNOWLEDGE OF:
• Operation of hand and power tools and equipment used in groundskeeping.
• Basic grounds maintenance procedures including mowing, edging, raking and trimming.
• Understand and operate equipment and materials used in groundskeeping work.
• Health and safety regulations
ABILITY TO:
• Perform general grounds maintenance duties including mowing, edging and trimming.
• Perform routine and semi-skilled grounds maintenance duties.
• Lift heavy objects.
• Use a variety of tools and machines utilized in the basic trade.
• Safely operate power equipment.
• Perform heavy physical labor.
• Mow, edge, water, weed, fertilize, rake and cultivate lawns and athletic fields.
QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience:
• High school diploma or G.E.D. Certificate

• Work is performed while standing, sitting and/or walking.
• Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing. · Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations. · Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching.
• Requires the ability to lift, carry, push or pull medium weights
• Requires activities involving being around moving machinery, exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust, fumes and gases.
