About this role

Job Title: Interim EL Instructional Coach and Student Services Coordinator Reports to: Executive Director of Teaching and Learning Education and/or Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field.

• Valid Oklahoma Teaching Certificate

• Minimum of five years of successful teaching experience, with additional leadership experience in either a district or building site administrative role. Required.

Position Summary: The Interim EL Instructional Coach and Student Services Coordinator will oversee the district's English Learner (EL) program and provide instructional coaching and support to teachers, administrators, and students to ensure that EL students receive all appropriate services/testing and have meaningful opportunities to achieve academic success. This position will support the development and implementation of effective instructional strategies, collaborate with principals and school leadership teams, help teachers meet EL students' academic and language-development needs, and provide direct support to students as needed. The position will also coordinate and oversee designated district student services programs, including the Latchkey and Summer Latchkey programs, ensuring effective implementation, communication, and compliance with district expectations. The EL Instructional Coach and Student Services Coordinator will serve as a resource and instructional leader for EL services while providing support and oversight for assigned student services across the district. Performance Responsibilities:

• Leads the District in using research-based EL instructional strategies and best practices to address teacher needs and site goals.

• Collaborates with and coaches teachers and other instructional staff to adopt and develop curriculum materials and specific lesson plans that integrate EL instruction.

• Provides leadership and coaching for teachers by planning, collaborating, organizing, mentoring, and facilitating change to improve the EL program.

• Responsible for monitoring staff utilization for the provision of services within assigned facilities and reporting to site administrators.

• Assists and coaches teachers and administrators in employing appropriate research-based strategies to ensure students achieve academically and socio-emotionally.

• Facilitates professional development related to EL students, instruction, and data disaggregation.

• Provides on-site and in-district coaching regularly.

• Provides on-site and in-district training annually.

• Assists in the orientation of new faculty members.

• Coordinates and leads an ongoing evaluation of the effectiveness of the EL program.

• Creates improvement plans based on program data.

• Communicates with district and site administrators about areas of need and improvement plans.

• Recommends adjustments to the EL and Latchkey programs.

• Serves as a resource to district administrators/leadership and the school in the development of a range of services for EL students and the Latchkey programs.

• Coordinates WIDA Screening and ACCESS testing.

• Assists in monitoring the district's effectiveness and compliance with local, state, federal, and court-ordered requirements related to Title III.

• Stays current on technical, legislative, and professional development trends affecting EL and shares information with appropriate district personnel through ongoing professional development.

• Maintains student records and protects confidentiality.

• Responsible for developing budgets and providing expenditure controls on budgets.

• Responsible for facilitating committees associated with programs.

• Must be willing to attend conferences, professional development, training, etc. when requested by the district.

• Must be willing to obtain additional credentials if required by the state or federal government.

• Work to prevent students from dropping out of school and help evaluate career interests and choices.

• Works with students individually to solve personal problems related to home and family relations, health, and emotional adjustment.

• Works with site personnel to plan guidance field trips to schools, colleges, and industry for interested students.

• Confer with parents whenever necessary.

• Responsible for resolving parent/guardian concerns/complaints in an efficient and effective manner.

• Be highly visible within each assigned facility to monitor the team's performance in delivering quality services.

• Communicate frequently and directly with the district administrative team about potential problems or issues that require immediate attention.

• An energetic and positive approach to the rapidly evolving changes and challenges of education

• Coordinate before- and after-school Latchkey and summer Latchkey programs as well as other programs assigned.

• Serves as a resource to district administrators/leadership and the school in the development of a range of services for EL students and the Latchkey programs.

• Recommends adjustments to the EL and Latchkey programs.

• An ability to work independently and in cooperation with others.

• Other duties as assigned by district administration.
