Tenure: 12-month secondment; full-time or part-time applications will be considered.
Bowel Screening Wales, part of the Screening Division within Public Health Wales, delivers the national bowel screening programme for eligible people aged 50-74 years across Wales.
This is an exciting opportunity to develop your skills, knowledge and experience in public health and screening services. The Regional Nurse will be a key member of the Bowel Screening Wales nursing team, providing professional leadership and support to regional bowel screening teams across Wales.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to act as a visible point of contact for local clinical teams, driving service development and continuous improvement to enhance population outcomes. Working closely with colleagues across Bowel Screening Wales, the post holder will support the delivery of the Screening Colonoscopy Improvement Project (SCIP) and initiatives to reduce screening inequalities, contributing to service innovation, quality improvement and the delivery of high-quality, equitable screening services.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will play a key role in the development and delivery of national training programmes and contribute to the development of national policy and professional standards. They will monitor risk and programme performance within their region, using service user feedback, quality assurance findings and performance data to identify opportunities for improvement and drive service development.

Qualifications and Knowledge Essential
Registered nurse with current registration with Nursing Midwifery Council Educated to degree level with a relevant qualification Post graduate masters qualification or equivalent level of skills and knowledge Evidence of professional development Knowledge and understanding of duty of cadour, duty of quality and clinical governance Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and IPC principles
Desirable
Knowledge of the bowel screening pathways Teaching and assessing qualification Experience of presenting cases at an MDT
Experience Essential
Experience in leading change, service improvement and supervising staff Experience in delivering sensitive or complex clinical information Experience in leading in audit Experience of leading and managing a team Experience of reviewing incidents and concerns
Desirable
Experience of working in the Bowel Screening Wales Programme, Colorectal or endoscopy service Experience working in a service that is delivered remotely eg using telephone appointments
Skills and attributes Essential
Strong understanding of bowel screening , colorectal conditions and population screening Competent in clinical assessment Excellent communication skills, including delivering difficult news Ability to work autonomously and manage a varied clinical case load Confident in using IT packages

Welsh language skills are desirable level 1 to 5 in understanding, speaking reading and writing Welsh
