Salary: £53,931 to £64,710 per annum, depending on experience
Hours: Monday to Friday
Contract: 10 month fixed term contract
A little about the role
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our established Palliative Care and Symptom Control team at The London Clinic.
You will provide expert, compassionate support to patients living with life limiting illnesses, helping them achieve the best possible quality of life throughout their care. Working across inpatient and outpatient services, you will independently manage a specialist caseload while collaborating closely with Consultants, nursing teams and the wider multidisciplinary team.
This is a highly visible and influential role where your specialist knowledge, clinical judgement and communication skills will make a meaningful difference to patients and their families.

Completing comprehensive and holistic assessments for patients across inpatient and outpatient settingsProviding specialist advice and support on symptom control, palliative care and end of life careDeveloping individualised care plans based on each patient's clinical, emotional, social and spiritual needsSupporting patients and families through complex and sensitive conversations about prognosis and advance care planningParticipating in daily ward rounds for patients on the palliative and symptom control caseloadActing as a patient advocate and providing specialist input during multidisciplinary team meetingsWorking closely with internal teams and community services to support safe and effective discharge planningProviding clinical guidance, education and support to ward based teamsContributing to clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives and the continued development of the serviceParticipating in the on call rota in line with service requirements
What we're looking for Registered Adult Nurse with current NMC registrationSignificant post registration experience within acute oncology or cancer servicesAt least one year of experience working as a Palliative Care Clinical Nurse Specialist or at a senior Band 6 or Band 7 levelStrong clinical knowledge of symptom control, palliative care and end of life careAdvanced communication skills, with the confidence and sensitivity to manage complex discussions with patients and familiesThe ability to work autonomously, manage a specialist caseload and make sound clinical decisionsA leadership or management qualificationExperience contributing to clinical audit, research, quality improvement or service development

Palliative and symptom control care is fully integrated into the patient pathway, supported by strong multidisciplinary working and visible clinical leadership. You will work alongside experienced Consultants, senior nurses and other specialist professionals within a collaborative service where your expertise will be recognised and valued.
