Job SummaryAbout the Position: This is an Administrative Support Assistant (OA), GS-0303-06/07 position with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Little Rock District, Programs & Project Management Division. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. GS-06: Specialized experience which includes 1) preparing documents such as correspondence and reports using automated reporting system ; AND 2) creating travel orders to include coordinating transportation arrangements for office staff. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). GS-07: Specialized experience is defined as: performing 2 out of the 3 following duties: performing 2 out of 3 of the following duties: 1) Preparing and tracking purchase request to maintain an audit trail of fund OR 2) administering purchases of supplies, equipment, and services using a credit card OR 3) performing administrative support duties such as personnel administration and property record management. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). In addition to meeting experience requirements, applicants for these positions must show possession of the following skills: This position requires a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute (WPM) based on a 5 minute sample with 3 or fewer errors.
Major DutiesResponsible for Division/Office property book records. Review records of subordinate branch and sections to insure property records are accurate and adequate.Serve as the Alternate Training Coordinator assistant for the Division/Office functioning as the contact for training activities for assigned employees.Provide administrative support for the Branch and Section Chiefs, coordinating clerical and day-to-day administrative support activities that are typically required to accomplish the work of the organization.Prepare travel and training requests in the Corps of Engineers Financial Management System(CEFMS).Acts as ordering officer and Government Purchase Card (GPC) credit cardholder to purchase supplies or services under authorized dollar threshold or as an Authorized Receiving Official.
