5 October 2026 We are looking for an Engineer with previous experience supporting Servers in a corporate network. The role will be a Project role working on projects end to end, including solution design, implementation, build, and documenting for handover to our Operations team.
The projects will cover a wide area including server infrastructure from hardware, OSs, virtual platforms, backups, and monitoring.
Main Responsibilities / Accountabilities:
Attend project meetings.Design solutions following the company, and industry standards.Work with PMs, other internal teams, and 3rd parties to deliver solutions.Install, and configure the server elements of solutions, including Hardware, OS, Monitoring, Backup.Document designs / solutions.Handover completed solutions to the Operations team.Build effective working relationships across the Asda Technology function.Design, Install, configure solutions following the Asda Security policies.Manage your day-to-day workload to ensure tasks are completed within set timescales. Good customer service skills.Good communication skills.Ability to deliver to tight deadlines.Ability to work well under pressure.Capable of managing own workload with minimal supervision.Logical and methodical approach to problem solving.Willingness to understand and learn new skills.Strong People Skills.Experience supporting Windows, Linux servers and VMware infrastructure (at L3 level).PowerShell Scripting, and automation experience Advantageous to have knowledge/experience in the below.
Knowledge and experience of Enterprise Retail IT environments. Experience supporting servers hosted in Azure. Automation tools, ie Ansible, PackerMicrosoft Server, or VMware certification Everything you'll love
