Ainscough Crane Hire are looking for an experienced Technical Manager to join our Lancaster depot.
This is a key role for someone who understands the technical side of lifting operations and can combine strong industry knowledge with excellent customer and commercial awareness. You’ll be responsible for turning site visits and technical expertise into safe, practical and commercially viable lifting solutions – from initial enquiry through to completion.

The Role
As Technical Manager, you’ll be the technical link between our customers and the depot, providing expert advice and developing lifting solutions that are safe, practical and commercially effective.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Carrying out customer site visits and developing opportunities into confirmed hire contractsWorking closely with customers at all levels to establish the most effective lifting solutionProducing high-quality site surveys, method statements, technical drawings and risk assessmentsEnsuring all lifting solutions meet the required industry standards, regulations and company proceduresMaintaining the highest standards of Health & Safety, regardless of commercial pressuresTaking ownership of work from initial enquiry through to completionProviding technical expertise and support to the depot teamBuilding strong customer relationships and representing Ainscough professionally at every opportunityEnsuring work is prioritised and delivered within agreed timescalesKeeping fully up to date with the products and services offered by AinscoughIdentifying opportunities to improve processes, service delivery and the effectiveness of the roleSupporting the wider depot team with general operational requirements when required What you’ll bring
We’re looking for someone with proven technical experience within the crane and contract lift sector, alongside the ability to communicate confidently with customers, colleagues and other stakeholders.

Previous experience working as an Appointed PersonCPCS A61 Appointed Person Blue CardExperience within cranes and contract liftFull UK driving licenceStrong understanding of Health & Safety requirementsGood geographical knowledge of the local areaGood transport and logistical knowledgeMinimum A*-C GCSE in Maths and EnglishProven ability to work to clearly defined plans and deliver against objectives Desirable:

You’ll need to be confident working with both people and technical information, with the ability to:
