Specialized experience is defined as: Experience in mainframe systems, using scheduling software, JCL, and database utilities; conducting systems requirement reviews and applying changes; providing systems support in a mainframe environment. You may qualify for consideration if meeting specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.
Major DutiesProvide System Administration for a large-scale mainframe payroll system, ensuring stability and performance.Serves as a technician of several specialized IBM mainframe software packages, including Computer Associates (CA) View, Strobe, AbendAid, Access Control Facility (ACF2), and CA-1 Tape Management System (TMS).Maintain, test, and debug the IBM z/OS mainframe operating system software.Provide on call support to nightly batch mainframe processing cycles for a payroll system. Analyze system problems (abends) and issue system recovery and/or restart Job Control Language (JCL) as warranted by the situation.Maintain system documentation to improve and maintain the system's audit posture for large scale mainframe payroll system.
