Major DutiesYou will apply a variety of methods, procedures, and techniques to install, overhaul, repair, and rehabilitate various types of machines and machine installations.You will determine and locate sources of trouble by visual inspection, by mechanical means, by smell, by hearing, or by feeling machines which are inoperable.You will disassemble machinery, replaces or repair parts, tunes up and realigns gear, wheels, axles, shafting, bearings and similar parts, adjust clearances and resets cams, gear ratio, belt drives, and various other components.You will overhaul and rehabilitate various interrelated systems such as various hydraulic pump units (axial, gear and piston), hydraulic valves, herring bone gears, lead screws, and gear trains.You will manufacture or fabricate relatively simple replacement parts using tools such as lathes, milling, machines, shapers, planers, boring mills and portable machine tools to turn out parts.You will assemble factory prefabricated machine tools. Installs new equipment and conduct acceptance tests.
