Job SummaryYou will serve as a PIPEFITTER (NUCLEAR) in the Nuclear Production Department at the NUCLEAR REGIONAL MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT GUAM, DETACHMENT GUAM of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF. Typical work includes fabrication/preparation/disposition of test equipment to support submarine preventive maintenance items and installation/maintenance/removal of freeze seals.

Major DutiesYou will remove, install, align, repair, and test a variety of submarine and surface craft piping and components.You will install, modify, and repair systems by setting up system routes, placing and cutting route openings.You will make necessary templates, jigs, and other fixtures required for repair or installation utilizing knowledge of materials and their versatility.You will determine pipe, joint, and valve sizes needed to support pressures of systems, aligning pipes, valves, fittings, and joints for accurate match.You will apply standard formulas, shop mathematics, trade theories, and industry practices in calculating needed materials and problem solving.You will utilize blueprints, and sketches to plan and lay out the routing, placement, pitch, elevation, pressure reduction, expansion, and operations of various piping systems and equipment.
