Job SummaryAbout the Position: This position is an action officer for an active-duty Transportation Brigade (ARTRANS) headquartered at Sembach, Germany. This Brigade comprises active-duty service members, DACs, US Army Reservists, local national employees and contractors. This Brigade conducts missions in nearly all of the countries on the European continent as well as several countries in Africa simultaneously.

Specialized experience: Providing contract administration functions related to transportation and traffic management services for surface cargo and seaport operations. AND Utilizing various Transportation Systems not limited to systems such as Integrated Computerized Deployment System (ICODES) and Global Air Transportation Execution System (GATES). Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
Major DutiesResponsible for advising and assisting the Chief, Terminal and Documentation Management Office in providing transportation, traffic management related services, and documentation management.Serves in the Terminals and Documentation Management Office.Develops, recommends, implements policy and procedures for surface cargo operations within the Brigade’s area of responsibility.Acts as the point of contact for controversial actions with shippers, terminals, ocean carriers, or port authorities; monitoring import/export traffic within their area of responsibility.Provides functional management for terminal operations contracts.Serves as the Brigade’s alternate for ship-load planning and functional manager for the Integrated Computerized Deployment System (ICODES).Serve as Brigade’s alternate for Documentation Management, U.S. Government manifests, European Union customs clearance and border crossing, and functional manager for the Global Air Transportation Execution System (GATES).
