Responsibilities:
• Maintain safety and accuracy during the loading and transport of merchandise to prevent damage to the products and customers' homes
• Efficiently assemble, service, and deliver customer and store merchandise. This may include, but is not limited to, exercise machines, trampolines, basketball hoops, grills, furniture, game tables, bicycles, and other Scheels merchandise
• Troubleshoot and respond to customer delivery and equipment issues
• Maintain accurate and detailed records for the store, customer equipment, and delivery trucks
• Ensure a clean and professional appearance of the Scheels delivery trucks and the delivery area in your store
• Assist associates by organizing, managing, and cleaning backroom spaces and fixture storage areas
• Communicate effectively with all associates before transporting freight/fixtures to the various departments or off-site warehouse
• Coordinate scheduling with Leadership, Specialty Shop Managers, or Merchandisers for builds/large shipments/assembly/disassembly and movement of Opto walls, Lozier walls, and Adams racking
• Lead a team in the execution of the plan according to Scheels safety expectations
• Establish product clearing expectations before the date of the event
• Help identify products in bulk that can be taken to off-site storage
• Assist customers and salespeople with retrieving and loading purchased products
• Organizing, categorizing, and transporting freight and fixtures to and from the warehouse
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals
• Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve assembly and delivery issues
• Be respectful of the customer's home and property throughout the delivery process
• All other duties as assigned
Education & Experience:
The ideal candidate must possess a clean, valid driver's license and be an approved driver through DOT (DOT may not apply to all store locations) and Scheels Driving Standards, and be at least 21 years of age. High School Diploma, or General Education Degree(GED), one to three months of related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements:
Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.
Very heavy work - Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
