The Hamrin field produces oil primarily from the Tertiary (Miocene) reservoirs — the Jeribe and Euphrates formations — with the Dhiban formation as a secondary reservoir.

Position Summary
The IT Support Analyst provides hands-on IT support across HKN Hamrin's office and field locations, keeping workstations, network equipment, and business-critical applications running reliably in an environment with limited local infrastructure and intermittent connectivity. The role focuses on day-to-day desktop and helpdesk support, along with basic field connectivity troubleshooting. The successful candidate will be a proactive problem-solver comfortable working independently at remote sites with limited direct supervision.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, OS, and network issues across the office and field sites, in person and remotely.
• Install, configure, support, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, phones, and other IT equipment for all HKN Hamrin personnel.
• Provide end-user support across Windows PCs, laptops, tablets, and mobile platforms.
• Support Microsoft 365 and other Microsoft cloud-based services for end users.
• Provide first-line support for field connectivity, including 4G/LTE modems, VSAT/satellite links, and network equipment at remote sites; escalate issues when required.
• Assist with day-to-day support of business applications used by HKN Hamrin.
• Develop workarounds and solutions to improve user experience and resolve recurring system issues.
• Maintain an accurate inventory of IT hardware and field equipment.
• Follow technical documentation, including setup procedures, configurations, and rollback/back-out plans.
• Follow IT security practices at the site level, including access control, antivirus/endpoint protection, and safe use of company systems.
• Travel to field locations as required to install, repair, or maintain equipment, including in areas with basic infrastructure.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in a Desktop Support, IT Support, or Network Support role, ideally including remote or field-site environments.
• Solid working knowledge of desktop hardware, Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, and general network connectivity.
• Basic exposure to networking equipment (routers, switches, firewalls) and cellular or satellite links is a plus.
• Certifications such as CompTIA A+/Network+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator, or HDI are a plus.
• Fluent in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple issues at once.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of issues at remote sites with limited on-site supervision.
• Willingness to travel regularly between HKN Hamrin office and field locations, and to take on additional responsibilities as required.
Requirements
• This role requires extended periods of working in Field Operations locations.
• This role requires an individual to work 7 days a week whilst on duty.
• This role may require an individual to work extended hours on occasion.
