Patient Scheduler Location: St. Louis, MOSchedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PMWork Setting: Onsite, office environment (non-patient facing)6 month contract to hire Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Patient Scheduler to support patients and healthcare providers in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will have experience handling a high volume of inbound and outbound calls, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and providing exceptional customer service while ensuring an accurate and efficient patient registration process. Key Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments via phone and email. • Register patients remotely and maintain accurate patient records. • Collect and verify patient demographic, insurance, and referral information. • Obtain required documentation, including insurance information and referral forms. • Communicate with physicians and clinical teams regarding urgent scheduling requests and referrals. • Review and maintain scheduling accuracy for new and existing patients. • Contact patients with appointment reminders and gather any outstanding insurance or referral information. • Process internal physician referrals for clinical care. • Explain billing processes and respond to patient and third-party payer inquiries. • Provide guidance regarding insurance coverage, financial assistance programs, and payment responsibilities. • Assist with account maintenance activities and support staff with billing-related questions. • Support patient outreach, follow-up scheduling, and reminder activities. • Manage patient reminder system results and make scheduling adjustments as needed. • Perform daily edits and temporary updates to provider scheduling templates as directed. • Collaborate with team members to resolve scheduling, registration, and billing issues. Required Qualifications

• Experience managing 65 to 80 calls per day in a high-volume call center, patient access, scheduling, or healthcare customer service environment. • Strong customer service skills with a patient-focused approach. • Experience with patient scheduling, registration, or healthcare administration. • Knowledge of insurance verification and referral processing. • Understanding of medical billing practices and financial assistance programs. • Excellent communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills. • Strong data entry and computer skills. • Experience using electronic scheduling systems and patient reminder platforms. Preferred Skills

• High-volume inbound and outbound call handling. • Patient empathy and professionalism. • Healthcare customer service experience. • Accurate data entry and documentation skills. • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Work Environment & Additional Information

• Onsite office setting. • Non-patient-facing position. • Collaborative team environment supporting healthcare operations. • Business casual dress code; jeans are permitted as long as they are not ripped. • Conveniently located near major medical facilities in the St. Louis area. • Parking is available; however, employees are responsible for a monthly parking fee of $80. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Louis, MO. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
