Job Title: 2nd Shift Maintenance TechnicianJob DescriptionThe Experienced Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring maximum equipment uptime, safety, and operational efficiency by installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment, facility systems, and production support equipment. This position requires advanced technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automation systems. Responsibilities • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control system failures. • Perform troubleshooting of production equipment, automation systems, PLCs, VFDs, motors, sensors, and industrial controls. • Conduct preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities according to established schedules. • Install, modify, and upgrade manufacturing equipment and facility systems. • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals. • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring equipment failures. • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime. • Collaborate with production personnel to identify and resolve equipment-related issues. • Support new equipment installations, commissioning, and validation activities. • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, productivity, and safety. • Maintain facility systems including HVAC, compressed air systems, plumbing, and building infrastructure. • Monitor and maintain utility systems to ensure reliable operation. • Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors as needed. • Complete maintenance work orders and documentation within the CMMS system. • Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance activities. • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and applicable codes. • Participate in safety audits, inspections, and training programs. • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Maintenance Technicians and Maintenance Apprentices. • Assist in developing maintenance procedures and best practices. • Participate in cross-functional teams to improve equipment reliability and maintenance processes. Essential Skills • 5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment. • Experience troubleshooting automated manufacturing equipment. • Strong knowledge of electrical systems up to 480V preferred. • Experience with PLC troubleshooting preferred. • Mechanical systems repair and troubleshooting. • Electrical troubleshooting and diagnostics. • Pneumatic and hydraulic systems maintenance. • PLC, HMI, VFD, and industrial automation troubleshooting. • CMMS software experience. • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment. Additional Skills & Qualifications • High School Diploma or GED required. • Technical degree, trade school certification, or equivalent military experience preferred. • Welding, fabrication, and machining skills preferred. Work EnvironmentWork in a modern state-of-the-art manufacturing and industrial environment with exposure to moving machinery, noise, dust, and varying temperatures. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, 5pm to 3:30am, with a 10% shift differential. Some availability is required on Fridays, and mandatory work may occasionally be required on Fridays. Physical tasks include standing, walking, bending, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces. The role requires lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds regularly, working at heights, and operating in varying environmental conditions. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mesa, AZ 85212. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $32.00 - $40.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
