Job Title: CNC Machinist and ProgrammerJob DescriptionThe CNC/Manual Machinist and Programmer plays a hands-on role supporting cross-functional teams with prototyping, new product development, and production activities. This position focuses on manufacturing assemblies, components, tooling, fixtures, gages, and production parts using both CNC and traditional machine shop equipment, while ensuring high quality and on-time delivery.Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate CNC mills and lathes, including Okuma and Haas equipment, to produce precision components and assemblies. • Set up and operate traditional machine shop equipment such as knee mills, lathes, and surface grinders to support production and prototyping needs. • Design, build, and utilize fixtures required to produce consistent, production-level components with repeatable quality. • Design and create custom tooling and CNC programs in collaboration with research and development requirements. • Convert 2D and 3D CAD drawings into machined components by developing appropriate machining strategies and programs. • Program machines using CAM software, G/M-code, or interface-based conversational programming, selecting the most efficient method for each job. • Verify G/M-code programs, debug issues, and adjust parameters as needed to ensure safe, efficient, and accurate machine operation. • Load parts and operate multiple machines simultaneously, maintaining quality control standards and optimizing operational efficiency. • Recognize tooling wear and life cycles, and adjust programming and machining procedures to maintain accuracy and productivity. • Inspect, evaluate, and document components as they are produced, and provide clear feedback to relevant departments regarding potential changes or manufacturing issues. • Requisition raw materials, tooling, and supplies as needed to maintain on-time production of required deliverables. • Consistently deliver high-quality components on schedule, meeting dimensional, cosmetic, and functional requirements. • Maintain equipment and work areas to ensure a clean, safe, and organized shop environment. • Perform regularly scheduled basic preventive maintenance on machinery and tooling, and assist with special projects as assigned. • Provide mentorship and learning opportunities for other machinists, technicians, and project engineers, sharing best practices and technical knowledge. • Troubleshoot machining and programming issues, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective actions. Essential Skills

• 5+ years of direct CNC machining experience in a production or prototyping environment. • Strong proficiency with Okuma CNC lathe and mill programming and operation. • Hands-on CNC machinist experience, including setup, operation, and adjustment of CNC equipment. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to produce accurate machined components. • Experience with G/M-code programming and interface-based conversational programming. • Familiarity with CAM software for generating CNC programs. • Solid troubleshooting skills for machining processes, tooling issues, and program errors. • Ability to convert 2D and 3D CAD drawings into machined parts with appropriate tooling and process selection. • Experience designing and using fixtures and custom tooling to support repeatable production. • Eligibility to access certain government information, requiring status as a U.S. Person under applicable federal requirements. Work EnvironmentThe role is based in a machine shop environment that combines CNC fabrication equipment with traditional machining tools. You will work with Okuma and Haas CNC mills and lathes, as well as knee mills, manual lathes, and surface grinders, alongside CAD/CAM software and SolidWorks for design and programming tasks. The shop emphasizes cleanliness, safety, and organization, with regular preventive maintenance on machinery and tooling. Work involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including R&D and engineering, and requires attention to detail, adherence to quality standards, and consistent on-time delivery in a production and prototyping setting. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $36.05 - $38.46/hr.
