Job Title: Shipping and Receiving SpecialistJob DescriptionThis role is responsible for managing incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy in order fulfillment, and maintaining inventory records. It plays a critical part in the supply chain by ensuring materials, parts, and products are received, stored, and shipped efficiently. Responsibilities • Support all activities related to inbound shipments, including unloading deliveries from trailers to the dock using a hand truck and/or forklift, handling heavy equipment unloads, segregating inbound material into direct and indirect categories, and staging material within the facility to support all external teams. • Assist the Production Control team with material moves to support quality inspection, putaway actions, and material issues for all production teams. • Provide assistance to employees when preparing outbound parcel and freight shipments processed through the appropriate Shipment Request form. • Help the Shipping & Receiving and Production Control teams clear out dunnage and remove empty boxes and crates from the inbound dock. Essential Skills • Familiarity with spreadsheets such as Excel or Google Sheets. • Experience supporting warehouse and production functions within a fast-paced organization, preferably in automotive, aerospace, or other related industries. • Ability to analyze complex problems, identify root cause issues, and recommend solutions. • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other systems for work instructions creation. • Experience with forklift operation, shipping and receiving, logistics, and inventory control. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Familiarity with ERP/WMS systems is a nice-to-have qualification. The role requires the ability to lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally 50 pounds, as well as the ability to walk, stand, crouch, bench, kneel, lift, carry, and reach as needed in large and tight spaces. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sturgis, MI. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
