Quality Inspector @ Aerotek

Quality Inspector Overview The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring products meet all quality standards before shipment. This role involves performing detailed inspections, documenting results, identifying nonconformances, and working closely with engineering and production teams to maintain high-quality standards. The ideal candidate has strong inspection experience, can interpret engineering drawings, and is comfortable using precision measuring equipment. Key Responsibilities Product Inspection

• Perform final inspections on outgoing parts and assemblies prior to shipment. • Conduct visual, dimensional, and functional inspections using tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMMs, and optical measurement systems. • Inspect carbon fiber and composite components for defects including delaminations, voids, and dimensional deviations. • Verify products meet engineering specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements. Documentation & Quality Control

• Record inspection results and maintain accurate documentation in quality management systems. • Ensure traceability of lot numbers, inspection records, and quality documentation. • Identify and quarantine nonconforming materials and products using hold tags. • Document defects, rejections, and corrective actions thoroughly and accurately. Technical Review

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and GD&T requirements. • Determine inspection methods, measurement techniques, and appropriate tooling. • Evaluate dimensions, functionality, and overall product quality against specifications. Continuous Improvement

• Support root cause investigations and corrective action activities. • Recommend improvements to inspection procedures and quality processes. • Help reduce inspection cycle times and improve inspection efficiency. • Collaborate with Quality Engineers, suppliers, and production teams to resolve quality concerns. Daily Operations

• Prioritize inspection activities based on production schedules and shipment deadlines. • Inspect larger assemblies such as wings, tail fins, motor pods, and similar components. • Support incoming, in-process, and outgoing inspections as required. Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment. • Experience performing visual, dimensional, and functional inspections. • Proficient with inspection equipment including: • Calipers • Micrometers • Gauges • CMMs • Optical measurement systems

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications. • Working knowledge of GD&T and its application during inspections. • Experience identifying nonconforming products and implementing quality controls. • Familiarity with quality management software (1Factory or similar). • Experience using Jira or other task management systems. • Strong computer and documentation skills. Preferred Qualifications

• Experience inspecting carbon fiber or composite components. • Electrical troubleshooting experience. • Experience supporting quality process improvements and continuous improvement initiatives. • Comfortable inspecting large assemblies rather than only small precision parts. • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Work Environment

• Open production floor with dedicated assembly stations. • Work closely with Quality Inspectors, Engineers, and Lead Quality Engineers. • Monday-Friday schedule, typically 7:00 AM-4:00 PM. • Flexibility for occasional schedule adjustments and weekend work based on production needs. • Casual dress code and team-oriented culture. • Exposure to large assemblies including wings, tail fins, and motor pods. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of San Francisco, CA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $36.00 - $42.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
