Job Title: Quality LeadJob DescriptionThe Quality Lead oversees the quality department and its staff, driving the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS) for products and manufacturing processes. This role ensures compliance with AS9100D and ISO 9001:2015 standards, leads internal audits, manages document control, and uses advanced inspection methods to verify that products meet all quality specifications prior to delivery.Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily workflow, schedules, and performance of the quality department, managing a team of 5–10 individuals. • Ensure the organization follows the framework and requirements of AS9100D and ISO 9001:2015. • Develop, implement, and maintain all aspects of the Quality Management System (QMS) in a production environment. • Perform internal audits of the QMS and related standards, documenting findings and driving corrective actions. • Operate and program CMM equipment for dimensional inspection, ensuring precise and accurate measurements. • Establish, monitor, and manage QMS key performance indicators (KPIs) to track quality performance and drive improvement. • Implement and manage processes to ensure products meet required quality specifications before delivery. • Ensure procedures and work instructions align with internal requirements and reflect current practices. • Communicate quality standards, parameters, and expectations clearly across the organization. • Open, communicate, and complete corrective actions following root cause analysis methodologies. • Prepare reports on quality control trends and provide recommendations for continuous improvement. • Review client, customer, and user feedback to identify quality issues and opportunities for enhancement. • Support final inspection and quality assurance activities for aerospace and other production-related products. • Participate in 6S activities and location management to maintain an organized and efficient work area. • Assist with regular inventory tasks, including lot-tracked inventory management. • Pull parts for manufacturing orders, including driving between warehouses as needed. • Handle chemicals safely; apply chemical handling experience where applicable. • Stock and manage vending machines, ensuring supplies are available and organized. • Support office supply management, including ordering, pick-up, and put-away of materials. • Maintain responsibility for company vehicles, including cleanliness, service record maintenance, and organization of straps and load management tools. • Cross-train and assist in production tasks as needed to support overall operations. • Receive freight shipments, track incoming deliveries, and make necessary space for goods. • Coordinate recycling activities with a local recycling yard, including scheduling delivery and pickup of recycling totes and loading/unloading totes on a flatbed. • Ensure bathrooms are stocked and coordinate with purchasing to reorder supplies when inventory is low. Essential Skills

• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a related quality field, preferably in a production environment. • Proven experience managing a Quality Management System in a production setting. • Extensive operational experience with CMM equipment and proficiency with related CMM software. • Ability to operate and program CMM equipment for dimensional inspection. • Strong understanding of AS9100D and ISO 9001:2015 standards and their application in manufacturing. • Knowledge of quality management systems and ISO standards. • Experience with CMM inspection and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing). • Experience in aerospace quality, final inspection, and quality assurance is highly valuable. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear reporting and cross-functional collaboration. • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail. • Effective time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. • Ability to reach agreements with others while maintaining a long-term relationship perspective. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in root cause analysis and corrective actions. • Strong supervisory and leadership skills, with experience managing a team of 5–10 individuals. • Ability to work safely with chemicals and follow all safety and PPE requirements. • Physical ability to lift 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs infrequently, and to work standing for extended periods. • Ability to work effectively in a loud production environment and in extreme temperatures depending on the season. Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree preferred. • Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus. • Internal and/or Lead Auditor certification is a plus. • Experience with internal audits of QMS and relative standards. • Familiarity with CMMS (computerized maintenance management systems) is beneficial. • Experience with location management and 6S or similar workplace organization methodologies. • Comfort driving between warehouse locations for parts pulling and inventory support. • Experience handling recycling processes and coordination with external recycling partners. • Ability and willingness to cross-train in various production tasks to support operations. • Strong commitment to safety and adherence to PPE requirements, including respirator masks and hoods. The position requires standing for extended periods and regular lifting of up to 50 lbs, with occasional lifts up to 75 lbs. Team members must be willing to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirator masks and hoods, and to follow all safety protocols when handling chemicals, operating equipment, and working around machinery. Work may involve driving between warehouses, loading and unloading materials, and working both indoors in production areas and outdoors when managing recycling or freight on flatbeds. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Emeryville, CA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $45.00 - $53.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
