Job Title: Material HandlerJob DescriptionThe Material Handler plays a key role in the warehouse and distribution center by safely loading and unloading trailers and trucks, managing inventory levels, and preparing orders for shipment. This position ensures products are handled correctly, space is optimized in the warehouse, and customer packaging, labeling, and shipping requirements are met accurately and on time.Responsibilities
• Load and unload all inbound and outbound trailers, trucks, vans, and other vehicles while using all required safety devices and following established distribution center procedures. • Conduct daily cycle counts and participate in physical inventories to maintain accurate stock records. • Consolidate product within the warehouse to optimize space utilization and support efficient operations. • Maintain awareness of all products and their handling requirements to ensure proper storage and movement. • Monitor warehouse inventory levels and replenish stock into warehouse racking as needed. • Assist the warehouse team in meeting productivity targets by completing assigned tasks promptly and accurately. • Prepare items according to customer packaging, labeling, and shipping requirements, including picking and packing items for daily orders in line with departmental procedures. • Operate material handling equipment such as vertical balers, pallet jacks, two-wheel carts, bar code scanners, conveyors, air machines, sealed air equipment, and shipping manifest systems, with industrial lift trucks operated once certification is obtained. • Follow guidelines and directions provided by the distribution management team and perform other related duties as assigned. Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Background as a material handler, warehouse associate, or in general warehouse operations. • Experience with production environments and meeting productivity goals. • Familiarity with stand-up forklifts is an advantage. • Comfort working with packaging materials and processes, including sealed air systems. • Attention to detail in labeling, packaging, and order accuracy. • Strong commitment to safety and adherence to warehouse procedures. • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions from the distribution management team. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
