Key Responsibilities:
(Consultancy roles)
1. Registry Framework & Data Architecture
• Architect and deploy multi-dimensional clinical registry frameworks to integrate real-time patient outcomes, surgical performance, and operational data across hospital departments. • Diagnose data system gaps and identify platform vulnerabilities within existing pipelines to optimize data completeness, governance, and interoperability.
2. Clinical & Treatment Performance Monitoring
• Design live executive dashboards to evaluate treatment efficacy, post-operative complication rates, and longitudinal Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) • Develop risk-stratification models to track high-risk patient cohorts and provide actionable clinical decision support for department heads and chief medical officers.
3. Health Economics & Revenue Optimization
• Bridge clinical performance with financial metrics, analysing length of stay (LOS) anomalies, procedure cost variations, and readmission trends to protect hospital profit margins. • Conduct market and growth analysis across specialty lines to identify patient catchment trends, referral patterns, and untapped clinical service opportunities. • Deliver executive diagnostic briefs and strategic recommendations to C-suite leadership (CEO, CFO, Medical Director) to inform resource allocation and capital investment.
4. Stakeholder Advisory & Research Integration
• Serve as the primary liaison between clinical specialists, hospital executive management, and IT teams to translate complex biomedical data into strategic business intelligence. • Lead C-suite handover briefings and train internal clinical informatics personnel on maintaining dashboard integrity and interpreting high-level data outputs.
(Managerial roles)
1. Research Administration & Governance
• Develop, review, and implement research policies, procedures, and guidelines. • Ensure compliance with institutional, regulatory, ethical, and funding agency requirements. • Manage research records, databases, and documentation. • Coordinate research ethics and governance processes.
2. Research Grant Management
• Identify and disseminate internal and external funding opportunities. • Facilitate the preparation, submission, and administration of research grants. • Monitor grant utilisation, project progress, and reporting requirements • Provide advisory support to researchers on grant-related matters.
3. Research Performance Management
• Monitor and analyse research performance indicators, including grants, publications, citations, and innovation outputs. • Prepare institutional research reports, statistics, and dashboards for management and external stakeholders. • Support strategic planning initiatives to enhance research productivity and impact.
4. Research Capacity Building
• Organise research training, workshops, seminars, and professional development programmes. • Support academic staff and researchers in strengthening research competencies. • Promote a culture of research excellence and continuous improvement.
5. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
• Establish and maintain relationships with funding agencies, healthcare institutions, industry partners, and academic collaborators. • Facilitate research partnerships, memoranda of understanding (MoUs), and collaborative projects. • Represent the University in research-related meetings and engagements.
6. Leadership & Department Management
• Lead and supervise Research Officers and administrative staff within the department. • Manage departmental budgets, resources, and operational plans. • Ensure effective service delivery and achievement of departmental objectives. • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the Research Management Department.
