Job Description
• Perform diagnostic imaging procedures (X-ray, CT, MRI, Fluoroscopy, Mammography, Trauma Imaging, Mobile X-ray) according to established protocols and clinician/radiologist requests.
• Apply radiation protection principles in accordance with Act 304, BSRP 2010, ALARA, and departmental safety protocols to protect patients, staff, and self.
• Prepare and educate patients by explaining procedures, ensuring comfort, obtaining relevant history, assessing safety risks, and providing compassionate care throughout the imaging process.
• Ensure accurate patient positioning and acquisition of high-quality images, verifying diagnostic acceptability before submission to radiologists.
• Operate and maintain imaging equipment, performing daily checks, proper handling, minor troubleshooting, and escalating technical issues to Biomedical Engineering or vendors.
• Maintain infection control standards across imaging rooms, equipment, accessories, and patient contact surfaces in line with hospital IPC policies.
• Support service workflow by coordinating patient scheduling, assisting radiologists during contrast studies or specialised procedures, and ensuring efficient patient movement.
• Update imaging documentation and records in PACS/RIS/EMR systems, ensuring accuracy in patient data, imaging parameters, and departmental statistics.
• Report any clinical, operational, or safety-related incidents within a stipulated time to the Head Diagnostic Imaging Services, ensuring proper documentation, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective measures
• Provide guidance to junior radiographers and students by demonstrating proper techniques, professional conduct, and adherence to safety and clinical protocols.
• Senior Radiographer will review and ensure imaging quality, provide technical oversight to junior staff, and collaborate with radiologists on protocol optimisation.
• Senior Radiographer will handle complex or specialised imaging procedures, including trauma, paediatric, or advanced modality cases requiring higher clinical judgement.
Job Requirement
• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Imaging / Radiography Field.
• Registered under Act 304 and Allied Health Professions Act 774.
