About this role
Your mission <ul><li>Own the environmental workstream of TURN2X's e-Methane and green hydrogen projects across Spain - screening sites and routings before we commit to land, defining the permitting strategy region by region, and bringing every project to <strong>Ready-to-Build (RTB)</strong> in the shortest possible time, with environmental risks identified and mitigated early.</li><li>Do it as an AI-native engineer: use AI and GIS automation to compress weeks of screening and drafting into days/hours, and build the reusable workflows that let the whole development team move at that speed.</li></ul> Your Responsibilities <ul><li>Run early-stage environmental and territorial screenings of sites and routings (QGIS / Glint Solar based), enabling clear go/no-go decisions before land securing.</li><li>Automate what repeats: build AI- and GIS-supported workflows for environmental pre-screening - flooding, fauna, flora, protected areas, seismic risk, traffic - and turn them into tools the team can run without you.</li><li>Define and own the permitting strategy for each autonomous community, with a documented environmental Gantt of milestones, risks and mitigations per project.</li><li>Challenge our environmental consultants on quality, scope and cost - compensatory measures, the environmental logic behind siting and routing, and the substance of every study and annex before we accept it.</li><li>Keep our documentation lean: define the level of detail permitting genuinely requires and strip out everything that does not move the project forward, starting at <strong>Basis of Design (BoD)</strong> stage.</li><li>Identify permitting risks early and design the mitigations, including how the project layout affects the <strong>licencia urbanística</strong>.</li><li>Work hand in hand with our Project Development Managers and with the central technical team in Munich, running several projects in parallel across different regions.</li></ul> Your profile <ul><li>Solid knowledge of Spanish environmental and permitting frameworks (<strong>EIA</strong>, ideally also <strong>AAI</strong> for industrial facilities), permitting an industrial plant is a different game from a standard RES project, and you know the difference.</li><li>Experience across several autonomous communities, each with its own regulatory particularities.</li><li><strong>AI-native by default, and critical about it.</strong> You already work with AI tools daily, for drafting, research, analysis and screening, you verify every output against primary sources, and you build reusable workflows and agents instead of one-off prompts. You use AI to go faster, never as a substitute for technical judgement: the rigour of the analysis is the part that cannot be automated away.</li><li>Functional command of <strong>QGIS and CAD</strong> for routings and constraint analyses, and the ability to produce simple, clear drawings and plans for landowners and public administrations.</li><li>Practical experience with environmental measures during construction and with monitoring plans (<strong>PVA</strong>), not at expert level, but enough to know what the commitments we accept at permitting stage really cost later.</li><li>Proven ability to critically review consultants' deliverables and push back on quality, scope and cost.</li><li>Strong communication skills with authorities, landowners and consultants.</li><li>Structured and autonomous way of working: you prioritise across parallel project streams and report progress clearly.</li><li>Fluent Spanish and professional English.</li><li><strong>Bonus:</strong> permitting experience with PtX, hydrogen, biogas or biomethane facilities; scripting and automation of GIS workflows; and comfort in fast-paced, early-stage environments where processes are still being built.</li></ul>
