About this role
About Caravelo
Airlines have spent decades selling one trip at a time. At Caravelo, we help them build recurring relationships with their customers instead.

We build the technology behind airline subscription products used by carriers around the world, combining SaaS, payments, booking systems and airline integrations in one platform.

Our Product & Platform teams build the common technology. Our Professional Services team makes it work in the real world for each airline.

Bringing an airline live takes more than software. Someone needs to understand what the customer wants, turn that into a deliverable solution and keep multiple teams moving toward the same launch.

That is where this role comes in.
The mission
As a Technical Project Manager in our Professional Services team, you will own the customer journey from signed contract to successful go-live.

Your primary promise is simple: launch on time and launch smoothly.

You will work with customers to understand their business needs, workflows, constraints and technical landscape, then translate those into a clear implementation that makes the best use of Caravelo's platform.

You will not define the technical architecture alone. Instead, you will facilitate the solution together with our Customer Solutions Engineers, Product & Platform teams and the customer.

Over time, you will develop a strong understanding of our product and of recurring airline technology patterns — from payments and reservation systems to identity, data and customer communications — allowing you to guide customers toward solutions that have worked elsewhere and challenge requirements when there is a better approach.

Throughout the project, you own the timeline, the customer relationship and the visibility of risks and dependencies.

If something threatens the launch date, you should know early, make it visible and drive the plan to address it.
What you'll do
Own the journey to go-live

You will be accountable for taking a customer from contract signature to a successful production launch.

Build and maintain a realistic implementation plan.

Coordinate Caravelo teams, customer teams and third-party vendors around the same milestones.

Manage dependencies, decisions, risks and changes throughout the project.

Keep the customer informed about progress and make deviations visible early.

Drive testing, launch readiness and production stabilisation.

Your role is not simply to report whether a project is on track. It is to create the conditions that keep it on track.

Understand the customer and shape the solution

No two airline implementations are exactly the same.

You will lead the discovery process from a business and delivery perspective: understanding how the customer operates, what they want to achieve and how those requirements map to Caravelo's capabilities.

Translate customer needs into clear requirements and implementation decisions.

Articulate what the Caravelo platform can already do.

Guide customers toward proven approaches based on previous implementations.

Identify where configuration is enough and where an integration, extension or additional development may be needed.

Keep the agreed solution, scope and important decisions clearly documented.

As your experience grows, you will become a subject-matter expert in parts of the airline technology landscape, such as payments, reservation systems or other critical integrations.

Keep complexity under control

Enterprise implementations rarely fail because nobody created a project plan.

They become difficult when requirements appear late, dependencies are unclear, decisions remain unresolved or different teams believe different things are in scope.

A major part of your job is preventing that.

You will continuously ask: What are we missing? What could delay us? Who owns this? When do we need the answer?

You should be comfortable challenging both Caravelo teams and the customer when something threatens the implementation.

Stay involved beyond launch

A go-live is an important milestone, but it is not the end of the customer relationship.

You will remain involved in regular customer conversations and lead smaller, clearly scoped projects as their implementation evolves.

Launching a promotional campaign with temporary pricing changes.

Migrating an existing subscriber base to a new price.

Introducing a new payment provider.

Connecting a new data layer.

Coordinating an integration migration.

Investigating and resolving a recurring customer issue.

We treat these in the same way as larger implementations: a clear objective, owner, scope, start date and end date.

Use AI to remove unnecessary friction

We actively use AI tools across Caravelo, including in Professional Services.

For a Project Manager, that might mean using AI to:

Turn workshops and conversations into structured requirements.

Analyse project information and dependencies.

Draft documentation and customer communications.

Explore an unfamiliar API or system.

Investigate a problem before involving an engineer.

Modify a small configuration or frontend element, or write a simple script for a one-off migration or operational task.

You are not expected to become a software engineer.

But we do value people who are curious enough to solve small problems themselves rather than creating unnecessary hand-offs.

Technical changes are always reviewed appropriately by our engineering team.
What success looks like

Customers launch on time and smoothly, with risks and potential delays identified early rather than discovered near go-live.

Customer requirements, dependencies and important edge cases are understood before they become delivery surprises.

Everyone knows what is in scope, what is not, what decisions remain open and who owns each dependency.

Customers feel guided through the implementation and trust you to help them make good decisions.

Customer Solutions Engineers can focus on solving technical problems because requirements, priorities and timelines are clear.

Post-launch changes and smaller projects have clear goals, ownership and timelines rather than becoming an endless stream of loosely defined requests.

What you bring
Must have

3+ years of experience managing complex customer-facing technology, SaaS or implementation projects from requirements through go-live.

Strong project-management fundamentals across planning, scope, dependencies, risks, decisions and stakeholder alignment.

Excellent discovery and communication skills: you can turn ambiguous customer conversations into clear requirements and actions.

Enough technical fluency to work comfortably with engineers and discuss APIs, integrations, data flows and enterprise systems without needing to be the person implementing them.

Comfortable managing multiple internal and external stakeholders and taking ownership when a project starts moving away from plan.

Curious, pragmatic and hands-on, including using AI tools to make yourself and the wider team more effective.

Nice to have

Experience in Professional Services, implementation consulting, enterprise onboarding or customer delivery.

Experience with airlines, travel technology or another integration-heavy industry.

Experience with payment systems, reservation systems, data platforms or other business-critical integrations.

Experience coordinating projects involving third-party vendors and legacy enterprise systems.

Experience with international customers and distributed teams.

Formal project-management training or certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2 or Agile methodologies.

Our stack
You will work closely with Customer Solutions Engineers, Product & Platform Engineering, Customer Success, Sales and the customer's own business and technology teams.

We use tools such as Jira, Teamwork, documentation platforms and AI assistants (internal) to help us manage delivery, but the tool itself is secondary.

What matters is maintaining a reliable shared understanding of:
scope · milestones · decisions · dependencies · risks · ownership · progress
The kind of professional who tends to enjoy this role
This role is a good fit if you like bringing structure to situations that do not start out particularly structured.

You enjoy understanding what customers really need rather than simply recording what they ask for.

You can move comfortably between a conversation about the customer's commercial objectives and another about an API dependency, payment migration or testing blocker.

You are organised, but not bureaucratic.

You use experience to guide decisions, while remaining curious enough to investigate things you do not yet understand.

And if a project is supposed to launch in six weeks, you do not wait until week five to discover that an important dependency is missing.
What we offer

Competitive salary with a clear progression framework.

Flexible working hours.

Barcelona-based hybrid model: 4 days in the office and 1 day working from home.

Tax-efficient benefits including private health insurance, restaurant and transport cards, and kindergarten support.

Budget for training and conferences.

Regular company events and celebrations.

23 days of annual leave.

Exposure to complex airline technology environments and customers around the world.

The opportunity to develop deep expertise in areas such as payments, airline reservation systems and enterprise integrations.

Meaningful ownership: you will see customers move from initial requirements all the way to production.

Our hiring process
Our hiring process usually takes around 3–4 weeks from application to offer and includes five stages.

Intro call · 15–20 min
A short conversation with our People team to get to know you, understand what you're looking for and introduce Caravelo and the role.

Hiring Manager interview · 30–45 min
A deeper conversation about your experience, how you manage customer projects and the challenges you would be solving in Professional Services.

Practical assignment
A short, role-specific exercise designed to understand how you structure an implementation, identify risks and translate customer requirements into a delivery plan.

Team interview · 45–60 min
Meet 2–3 future colleagues to discuss your experience and assignment, explore real delivery scenarios and understand how we would work together.

Founder interview · 30–45 min
A final conversation with one of Caravelo's founders to align on expectations, ways of working and any remaining questions.

We aim to keep the process practical, transparent and moving quickly.
Interested?
If you enjoy turning complex customer requirements into successful launches, bringing structure to ambiguity and working at the intersection of customers, technology and delivery, we'd like to hear from you.

Apply and tell us about a complex customer project you helped take from requirements to production.
