About this role
Job summary
Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a motivated, experienced manager ready to take the next step in their leadership journey. This Service Manager role offers the opportunity to lead the safe, effective and efficient delivery of services within the Worthing and Adur NMHTs, which provide community mental health care for adults across the Adur and Worthing localities.
The transformation of community mental health services has brought together primary care mental health provision, including the Emotional Wellbeing Service and Pathfinder, with specialist secondary care services previously delivered by the Assessment and Treatment Teams. This integration has created a multidisciplinary model of care, focused on improving access, enhancing patient outcomes, and delivering more joined-up support across local communities.
This role offers a unique opportunity to optimise and further develop the NMHT model, driving innovation and continuous improvement across community mental health services. Working closely with colleagues across primary and secondary care, the successful candidate will play a key role in delivering a more preventative, responsive, and person-centred service for the populations of Worthing and Adur.

Bringing operational leadership experience and expertise, your key responsibilities will include overseeing the provision of high-quality services meeting a range of performance objectives whilst maintaining financial balance. You will lead the successful development and delivery of quality services improvement projects and transformation across Worthing and Adur NMHTs to support increased service efficiencies and effectiveness.
A solution-focused, self- motivated individual, you will embrace resolving day to day problems independently. You will be a confident and clear communicator possessing excellent organisational, verbal and written skills.
The post holder will be required to have sound operational experience at either Team Leader or Service Manager level and be able to work on their own initiative to prioritise and plan their own workload efficiently.
You will be expected to appropriately manage confidential, complex and sensitive information, exercising discretion and upholding high professional and ethical standards at all times. You will also provide exemplary leadership and line management to the Team Leaders and Clinical Leads within the Worthing and Adur NMHTs, supporting them to develop their skills, expertise and confidence as key senior leads within the service.
