For more information, visit metalsa.com Role: Maintenance Group Leader Shift: 2nd shift Role Objective: We're looking for a maintenance leader who does more than fix machines — someone who builds team capability, drives accountability, and keeps production running smoothly under pressure. If you thrive in a fast-paced industrial environment and know how to bring out the best in a technical team, this role is for you. What does your day look like?
• Lead and direct maintenance technicians across production, PM, and downtime events • Assign work, set priorities, and hold the team accountable to completion • Organize and drive troubleshooting during equipment failures — calmly and decisively • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, robotic, and automated systems • Use PLC software to navigate logic, monitor I/O, and diagnose equipment faults • Escalate appropriately to Controls, Engineering, Tooling, or vendors when needed • Ensure full compliance with LOTO, safety requirements, and maintenance standards • Drive root cause analysis on recurring failures and implement permanent fixes • Review downtime trends to identify equipment reliability improvements • Develop technicians through coaching and hands-on troubleshooting support • Identify training gaps across PLC, robotics, electrical, and mechanical skills • Communicate equipment status and shift issues clearly to management and other shifts Minimum Qualifications
• 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
• PLC troubleshooting — connect, navigate logic, monitor I/O, identify faults
• Experience with automated manufacturing equipment
• Working knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, motors, and safety circuits
• Proven ability to lead people and coordinate troubleshooting
• Calm, sound decision-making under pressure
Preferred Qualifications
• Allen-Bradley PLCs (ControlLogix, Studio 5000) • FANUC robots — teach pendant, alarm recovery, basic programming • HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, and industrial networks • Prior leadership or supervisory role in industrial maintenance • Root cause analysis and corrective action experience • Technical degree, industrial cert, or equivalent training What Leadership Looks Like Here The Maintenance Group Leader isn't just the strongest technician on shift — they're the one who makes the whole team stronger.
