Job Title: Hospitality Resident

Reports To: The Hospitality Resident will report to Executive Director of Engagement

Job Overview: The Hospitality Resident will support Hill City Church’s objectives through the embodiment of the mission statement: Together, we love God, love others, and make disciples of Jesus Christ by helping create welcoming, organized, and hospitable environments for both guests and staff. This role supports the consistent execution of internal and external hospitality, including office and staff hospitality, guest experience, Communion, Sunday volunteer teams, events, and ministry spaces. The Hospitality Resident works alongside the Administrative Coordinator to ensure spaces are prepared, guests and staff are cared for, volunteers are supported, and hospitality systems are carried out consistently and with excellence.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Sunday Responsibilities:

• Assist with setup and tear down on Sundays

• Connect and help with Hospitality & Communion volunteer teams (160+ volunteers per Sunday!)

• Float Main Campus and West Wing to help us discover problems and areas of growth

• Connect and help with Sunday 5pm dinner volunteer teams

• Assist HC staff as needed

Hospitality & Connections: 80%

• Recruit hospitality and connections volunteers for Sundays

• Connect with new guests (New Guest Workflow) to ensure they have what they need to move toward connection at HC

• Monitor Communion and Hospitality inventory and purchase approved supplies as needed to maintain appropriate stock levels for Sundays and planned events

• Restock Connections table supplies

• Keep area tidy and stocked

• Assist with onboarding, communication, and ongoing support of Hospitality and Communion volunteer teams

• Support monthly Connections events (First Things First, etc.)

• Collaborate with the Hospitality Team to improve guest experience through giving and receiving ongoing feedback

• Work directly with ministries to improve ministry-specific Hospitality & Connections efforts (per the Assimilations Playbook)

• Commons, Salt, etc.

• Provide weekly volunteer check ins to foster healthy team culture

Resident Development: 20%

• Create and complete personalized development plan

• Participate in weekly team meetings, 1-on-1’s, and scheduled meetings

• Creation of and semi-annual evaluation of 6-month role plans

• Training, organizational development, and processes required of all staff & residents

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or two years of equivalent experience in hospitality, guest services, volunteer coordination, customer service, event support, ministry support, or a related position.

• Friendly, welcoming, and professional when interacting with guests, volunteers, staff members, and vendors.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Organized and self-directed, with the ability to follow established systems and produce consistent results.

• High attention to detail and willingness to complete routine preparation responsibilities consistently.

The hope for Hill City’s Residency Program is that adults who desire to explore vocational ministry will get the opportunity to do so within the local church. After their time in the Residency Program, residents will be better equipped to serve the Church - whether vocationally or through serving as a high capacity leader. The Residency Program will help each individual better understand what they are called to do and how God has gifted them for ministry. As they are sent out of the Residency Program, residents will have a clear vision of where they are going and will be equipped to be effective leaders in the Church for generations to come.
