Job Title: Events Resident
Reports To: The Events Resident will report to Director of Residency and Events
Job Overview: The Events Resident will support Hill City Church objectives through the embodiment of our mission statement: Together we love God, love others and make disciples of Jesus Christ. This role will include collaborating with many ministry leaders to plan and execute a wide variety of events that serve our church congregation and the city of Springfield. This resident will serve this community by creating space for people to experience intentional relationships, experience God in community, and reach the lost in our city.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Sunday Responsibilities:
• Assist in set up and tear down of gathering areas
• Be a welcoming presence for the congregation
• Assist HC staff as needed
For the City Center:
• Coordination of events for Outside Organizations and Non-profits in Springfield who desire to use Hill City Church as an event space
• Coordination of events for Covenant Members and Regular Attenders of Hill City Church who desire to use Hill City as an event space
• Day of Coordinating for events as needed
• Projects as assigned
Church Wide Events:
• Oversee and execute the project management of Easter, Christmas Eve, and Together We Pray
• Collaborate with Hill City Staff on vision for these events
• Organize volunteer teams
• Create and sign contracts
• Collaborate with Missouri State University staff
• Problem solve and take initiative to improve previous events
• Organize and execute a wide variety of details
• Hold others accountable and on appropriate timelines
• Be the point person for other ministry leaders to collaborate with in planning and executing large events in their ministry areas
Facilities Support:
• Support ministry events by setting up/tearing down, building event layouts, and leading volunteer teams
• Recruit and lead teams of volunteers for special projects
• Organize building resources like chairs, tables, signage and supplies to be more efficient
• Serve as a liaison between ministry leaders and security team to ensure security presence at ministry events
• Assist in the strategic planning process and building of systems to increase standard of excellence for ministry events
Additional Ministry Support:
• Collaborate with various ministry areas as needed in their event planning and execution
Resident Development: 20%
• Create and complete personalized development plan
• Participate in weekly team meetings, 1-on-1’s, and scheduled meetings
• Creation of and semi-annual evaluation of 6-month role plans
• Training, organizational development, and processes required of all staff & residents
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
• Strong ability to pay attention to detail and manage many variables at once
• Strong ability to collaborate with others and excellent communication skills
• Flexible schedule for evenings and weekends
Hill City's Residency Program Mission & Vision:
Hill City’s Residency Program exists to train, equip and send leaders to serve the Church.
The hope for Hill City’s Residency Program is that adults who desire to explore vocational ministry will get the opportunity to do so within the local church. After their time in the Residency Program, residents will be better equipped to serve the Church - whether vocationally or through serving as a high capacity leader. The Residency Program will help each individual better understand what they are called to do and how God has gifted them for ministry. As they are sent out of the Residency Program, residents will have a clear vision of where they are going and will be equipped to be effective leaders in the Church for generations to come.
