The role
The Senior Power Electronics Engineer plays a key role in the development of Pixii’s power electronic converters, supporting Lead Electrical Engineers with design, simulation, testing, and verification.
The role requires strong theoretical and practical expertise in power electronics, with particular focus on power semiconductors, magnetics, thermal design, EMI/EMC, efficiency optimization, and testing.
The position combines analytical design and simulation with hands-on laboratory work and development of automated test and verification methods.
You will:
• Design, simulate, optimize, and test power electronic converters and subsystems
• Support Lead Electrical Engineers with detailed hardware design and technical analysis
• Perform selection, design, and optimization of power semiconductors, gate drivers, magnetics, and other key components
• Perform loss calculations, efficiency optimization, and thermal design and testing
• Contribute to EMI/EMC design, measurement, troubleshooting, and optimization
• Participate in schematic design and PCB layout reviews
• Develop and maintain automated test setups for characterization and design verification
• Perform prototype bring-up, troubleshooting, testing, and root-cause analysis
• Support component qualification, reliability, certification, and industrialization activities
• Contribute to design specifications, technical documentation, test specifications, and design reviews
• Stay current with developments in power semiconductor technology, converter topologies, magnetics, and power electronics design
Who we are looking for
You bring deep technical expertise in power electronics combined with a practical, hands-on mindset. You thrive in a collaborative engineering environment and take pride in high-quality, well-documented work.
You bring:
• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in R&D and design of power electronic converters
• Strong theoretical and practical understanding of power electronics and converter topologies
• Experience with power semiconductor design, magnetics, thermal design, EMI/EMC, and efficiency optimization
• Experience with power electronics simulation tools such as Matlab/Simulink, PLECS, PSIM, SPICE, or equivalent
• Strong hands-on experience with laboratory testing and characterization of power electronic converters
• Experience with automated testing and tools such as Python, Matlab, LabVIEW, TestStand, or similar is an advantage
• Experience with grid-connected converters, energy storage systems, and SiC-based converters is an advantage
• Fluent in spoken and written English
