We’re looking for an experienced Fire Engineering Manager to lead our Fire Engineering team and help shape the future of the discipline at Babbage. This is an opportunity for a senior Fire Engineer who enjoys technical leadership, developing people and building strong client relationships – and wants the scope to make a real impact.

About the Role

Reporting to our Building Services Manager, you’ll lead the delivery and growth of our Fire Engineering offering with one other fire engineer, working across a diverse range of projects throughout New Zealand.

You’ll provide technical leadership, oversee project and commercial performance, and build strong relationships with clients and industry partners. You’ll also work closely with Babbage’s wider design teams to identify opportunities and deliver integrated building designs.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Leading, mentoring and developing the Fire Engineering team

• Providing technical leadership, review and quality assurance

• Overseeing project delivery and commercial performance

• Building strong client and industry relationships

• Identifying and developing new business opportunities

• Helping shape the growth and direction of Fire Engineering at Babbage

About You

We’re keen to hear from experienced Fire Engineers with:

• A degree in Fire Engineering or related engineering discipline

• 10+ years’ relevant professional experience

• CPEng or equivalent recognised professional registration

• Auckland Council Producer Statement Author status

• Strong fire engineering and performance-based design experience

• Experience leading technical teams

• Strong commercial and client relationship skills

• Peer review and independent design review experience

• An established network within the New Zealand industry.
