Job Title: Maintenance SupervisorJob DescriptionThe Maintenance Supervisor oversees a team of 6–10 maintenance technicians on the production floor, focusing primarily on leadership, coordination, and technical guidance rather than hands-on repair work. This role is responsible for organizing and tracking machine repairs, parts, work orders, and preventive maintenance schedules, while ensuring high machine uptime in a busy automotive manufacturing environment. The supervisor works closely with engineering, maintenance, production, and management teams to direct daily maintenance activities across hydraulic, robotic, mechanical, electrical, and PLC systems.Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of 6–10 maintenance technicians, providing direction, support, and coaching to ensure safe and efficient work practices. • Focus on leading and coordinating maintenance activities rather than performing extensive hands-on maintenance work in a unionized environment. • Organize and manage data entry and documentation related to machine repairs, parts usage, work orders, and preventive maintenance schedules. • Monitor equipment performance and coordinate mechanical and electrical troubleshooting efforts to guide technicians toward effective solutions. • Work directly with engineering technicians, maintenance staff, production teams, and site leadership to maintain and improve machine uptime. • Oversee daily maintenance on hydraulics, pneumatics, robotics, mechanical systems, electrical systems, conveyors, and PLC-controlled equipment. • Use blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation to support troubleshooting and repair planning. • Delegate tasks and projects assigned by site leadership to grow experience in the role and support departmental objectives. • Ensure preventive maintenance activities are completed, including participation in Sunday preventive maintenance days when required. • Support installation, setup, and maintenance of machinery, including hydraulic presses, motors, sensors, and related equipment. • Promote a proactive maintenance culture by identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes, and equipment reliability. • Maintain accurate records in CMMS and other computer-based systems for maintenance history, parts inventory, and work orders. • Coordinate and support on-call coverage as needed to respond to equipment issues outside of regular working hours. • Ensure compliance with safety practices, including awareness of electrical hazards, ARC flash considerations, and proper use of tools and equipment. • Collaborate with unionized staff in a fair and consistent manner, respecting established processes and agreements. Essential Skills

• 3–5 years of experience in maintenance supervision, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment. • Strong maintenance background with hands-on experience in mechanical and electrical systems. • Proficiency in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting to guide technicians through complex repairs. • Experience working with hydraulics, hydraulic systems, hydraulic presses, and hydraulic pumps. • Experience with pneumatics and pneumatic systems. • Working knowledge of robotics, including Fanuc robots and robotic equipment used in automotive manufacturing. • Experience with conveyors and conveyor maintenance in a production environment. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics. • Electrical experience with 24V, 110V, and 480V systems, including controls and power distribution. • Multicraft skill set covering mechanical, electrical, and controls disciplines. • Familiarity with PLC-controlled equipment and the ability to oversee maintenance on PLC systems. • Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, CMMS software, and documentation of maintenance activities. • Ability to perform and direct machine repair and installation work. • Capability to work 50+ hours per week, including 5 days of 10-hour shifts and some weekend work as required. • Willingness to work every other Saturday and occasional Sundays for preventive maintenance. • Ability to participate in on-call rotation as required to support production needs. Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Automotive manufacturing experience, preferably with Tier 1 automotive suppliers. • Experience in a hot, high-volume factory environment with large-scale production operations. • Exposure to sensors, motors, and controls components used in automated manufacturing equipment. • Experience with ARC flash safety considerations and related electrical safety practices. • Journeyman-level experience or journeyman license, card, or certification in a relevant trade is highly valued. • Experience with welding processes such as MIG welding, stick welding, and related fabrication work. • Experience in machine installation and commissioning in an industrial setting. • Ability to work effectively in a unionized facility and collaborate with a large workforce. • Strong organizational skills for managing maintenance schedules, documentation, and parts inventory. • Good communication skills to coordinate with engineering, production, and leadership teams. • Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and system optimization. Openings are available on 1st and 2nd shifts. Typical 1st shift hours are 5:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with the possibility of extended hours on Friday and Saturday as needed. Typical 2nd shift hours are 1:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The environment is a hot automotive factory setting with active production lines and older machinery alongside new equipment being installed as part of an expansion and modernization effort. The facility has an epoxy and paint-like smell due to manufacturing processes, and employees work around hydraulic presses, conveyors, robots, and other heavy industrial equipment. This is a direct-hire opportunity in a union facility, where overtime beyond 50 hours is compensated at straight time and annual pay increases are standard.
